What does that actually mean...?

? The bottom rows are angled differently to the top rows.. I think it will make it look a little different to the other stands

If they made another level on top of the Skylounge then it would have great views over Edinburgh. But I don't think there is another level.

Perhaps we are trying to get something like this in the new stand

They have been busy at the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Tonight's game against Everton gives Manchester City a chance to show off the improvements they have made to the main stand this summer.

This includes new dressing rooms...circular ones at that

And, having had a tour on Friday, I can confirm if manager Pep Guardiola wants to get his point across, and stands on the City badge shown in the picture, his voice will boom around the room.

And, fans who have shelled out for Tunnel Club hospitality will see the players as they head on to the pitch, and leave it for that matter - pay close attention if someone is unlucky enough to get sent off.

At the end, they will even be able to watch them conducting their post-match TV news conferences.

It is not quite as open as sports events are in the United States but is about as 'access all areas' as you are likely to get in England.

There is another level, there's stairs that lead up to it from the sky lounge. This other level can be seen clearly in the photo you posted. From the main facade, the next profile back is the sky lounge, then there is another level that can be seen on top of the sky lounge. I've already posted a photo from the wheatfield that captures the two sets of stairs leading up to this level.

Aren't those the stairs that lead into the stand?

Yes, but these stairs start in the sky lounge and rise up to another level, and the roof of this next level is just about as high as the main roof structure for the new stand. Someone agree with me please!

We need a stratosphere lounge on top of the sky lounge.

I get you now. The way you first wrote it, it sounded like the Skyline was going to have two hospitality levels, but what you're of course referring to, is simply the stairway up to the top of the stand...which is, as far as I know, internal, offering no views, which is indeed a shame, if that's the case.

I am pretty sure they are stairs to get from the Sky lounge into the stand itself, in other words you leave the lounge, go up the stairs and there are entrances at the very top of the stairs straight into the top of the actual stand. Fans will make their way down to their seats for the game and then at half/full time will head back up the stairs from their seat to the top of the stand and enter the stairs back down into the Sky lounge. Its an exclusive entrance to the lounge from the top of the Stand.

...although I had formed the impression that those stairs weren't exclusive to the lounge. IIRC, earlier plans appeared to show that they could also be accessed from lower levels in the stand, so perhaps upper row patrons in the central 4 sections, not necessarily using the sky lounge, might access their seats from these stairs too.

Perhaps someone ITK can confirm. (I guess it has to be Thomaso!).

Some old-fashioned folk use a technical term for that known as a 'roof'!

Nobody's going to agree with you because you're talking nonsense. Actually, the fact you're talking nonsense won't stop plenty of people on here from agreeing with you, but that's another matter!

I don't know for certain, but the fact that we can only see 2 of these staircases from all the photos of the development so far leads me to believe that it is an exclusive entrance as you would get hundreds of fans trying to get down these stairs at full time causing horrendous queuing and delays for people exiting the stadium and punters trying to get back to the Sky lounge all at the same time. I could be wrong though, hopefully Thomaso or someone else will know.

EPL clubs are going the same was an American franchises. Fan zones, entertainment away from the actual game, cafes, restaurants. All adds to a better day out.

I'm off to the states on Saturday, looking forward to taking in a few baseball and American football games.

We should be looking at ways to encourage folk to get to Tynie earlier and make more of a day of it. I can't see the harm of trying to get more food/drink options in. I reckon a couple of coffee/barista stands would actually do quite well.

Once the stand is up and running there will be no shortage of space to entertain at different levels, including the Gorgie Suite and the vacated shop under the Wheatfield Stand.

There is still the entire Roseburn undercroft for any future development too.

I'm a big believer in getting fans in for the whole day.

It will be possible in future should funds allow and planning permission is granted I suppose. It'd be a building warrant and possibly change of use as it wouldn't impede anybody or impose upon anyone either. Couple of reinforcements to make a floor, couple of stairwells, etc blah.

Cracking pic from McLeod St. Looks most awesome from that angle. Can't wait for the plaza and badge.

The better stadia in Australia have the same approach - but we can have outdoor seating areas etc. because we sell better food, beer and we have warm weather - all of which are things that Scottish football is not blessed with.  Outside the grounds we have activities for the kids (and not just face-painting shitey stuff, but real fun stuff like playing football, having a session in the cricket nets, beat the goalie, or whatever it is for the relevant sport).  In the USA I have only gone to sports events in LA, Dallas and Chicago (Chicago in the summer) - and again all of them had the weather to make the day out more enjoyable + tailgate parties in Dallas.  I'd like to see what the colder places in the US do in the winter months.

There is a reason in Scotland we normally just go to the pub before the game (to keep warm and drink), go to the game, leave at the end (because there is nothing to do at the stadium) and go back to the pub (to keep warm and drink).

All in all, in my opinion we need: warmth, drink (and maybe some food or something fun for the kids to do).

So, I understand that there is no public access to stand on top of the roof, but will folk who buy season tickets for the corners when they're filled in get access to the roof?

This has already been explained to you a few times, I'm not sure why you're choosing to stick with this 'secret staircase to a secret level which isn't allowed to be photographed' theory.

There is no upper level.

The stairs are to the seating in the stand.

That's really as far as this particular story goes.

It would be superb to be able to socialise at Tynecastle before and after matches.

A bit like the FOH pledges, handing over money to Hearts would be a sweet transaction.

Yep if we don't utilise that space (much like Partick Thistle have) then we have not only missed a trick, but a fair bit of revenue too!
