If you have very little defence to speak of, you will never win major titles.

A bigger puncher than MacGregor would have ended that fight sooner.

Agreed. Farooq a great boxer, but McGregor landed the more telling punches due to Farooq's poor defence.

The right decision.

What was happening? Could see folk in the audience turning away from the ring so assumed it had kicked off.

Watched Ortiz Wilder 2 tonight. Wilder doesn’t have a boxing bone in his body, actually mental how poor technically he is.
He lost every round until connecting with that right hand.
Boom and it’s over though.

Fury at his best will wall all over him...

If he can avoid that punch.

It is an incredible punch. Probably the biggest punch ever out with maybe ernie shavers and George foreman.

Exactly lol. Fury is the exact opposite of Wilder, lots of skill and movement for such a big man but literally zero KO power. It’s avoiding that right hand for the duration of the fight. He does that it’s a walk in the park for him.
AJ Ruiz 2 up next. Where does he go if he loses again.
Not sure how he approaches this one. He can KO anyone but clearly can’t take much punishment. Ruiz has quick and heavy hands for such an odd looking fighter.
I’ll be staying up to watch this one though.

Same. Casino for me I think.

Make a night of it.

Think it will be a drab affair with Joshua being extra cautious and picking Ruiz off at distance. Much like the Parker fight. All depends if Ruiz can get inside this time.

Joshua, while he has glaring faults should win this.

AJ will always do well against tall, upright, ‘conventional’ boxing styles, he’s got a great high guard and a piston of a jab.

However ..... Ruiz’s style, shape, durability, fast fists will be his undoing again i reckon.

Hoping for a great fight, may the best man win.

Yeah it’s all about styles and Ruiz looks to have AJ’s number.
Last fight was such a shock its hard to know how he approaches this one. A keep him at distance cagey, jabby points win is what he wants to be trying to achieve I think. I watched a thing on DAZN the other day and Evander Holyfield was saying he wasn’t surprised Ruiz won as he’d sparred with him and seen his fast hands and felt the heavy hits up close.
He’s predicted similar outcome again.

He's lost a bit of timber, and I agree he should keep his distance and pick of Ruiz on the way in. If he had done that first time round after Ruiz hit the deck. He would have got the job done. Ruiz can't win at range, speed and traps is his best game plan. For me still a 50/50 fight

Ruiz v AJ 2

Been watching some of the buildup to this and I have to say it’s quite intriguing...

AJ coming in super-lean today and Ruiz being heavier adds to that. Having watched them in the ring on the pads and stuff though - it’s still clear as day that Ruiz has far superior technique. AJ has no upper body & head movement - he’s still slow and easy to hit. Appreciate they’ve tried to get him leaner to make him more agile, but that’s never been his game. AJ’s strategy has basically been to wear smaller guys down over a few rounds with his size - usually leading to a stoppage. He has never had 1 punch KO power, and with AJ being lighter this time - that will take some of his power away from him, and if it goes beyond 6 rounds he’ll also start to tire - because it’s muscle mass he’s lost, and not fat. Ruiz is heavier this time but his hand speed is way better than Joshua’s and I think the extra weight will enable him to get AJ out of there earlier this time round. As long as he continues to throw combinations - like he did in the last fight, it’s Ruiz’s fight to lose.

The weight change from both guys is interesting, Ruiz is planning to bully AJ early, and I think that's his only chance of a win here.

Speed of punch is power at any weight, as Ruiz showed first time round. AJ will hopefully have learned his lesson. He was the bull going in last time now he has to be the matador. If he boxes clever at range early, AJ wins inside the distance.

I'm really looking forward to this. Its intriguing which way it will go. Any fight in the heavyweights can be over very quickly. I reckon if AJ boxes his fight he will take it but I'm not sure he is there, physoclogically, completely.

The talk of him saying he will say after the fight what happened last time and his demeanour since that fight makes me think he's got some doubt floating about.

Think AJ will win on points. He will stay away all night and fight like he did against Takam.

That should have been his tactic first fight.

Big test for Anthony, he'll be apprehensive about his punch resistance. I think he's finished already. Just my opinion, I've always thought he was over rated.

State of Ruiz. He looks worse than the 1st time round. You'd of thought he'd put more into the training camp than mars bars.

Would actually like to see Joshua land something decent on Ruiz.

He's just dancing around him and avoiding a fight.

Points wins for so called heavy weight champions can ****off.
