Played really well and could have won it for 2 huge beats on the final table when I was ahead calling all-in's from the short stacks. Still happy with it... An amazing hand happened with 6 players left (all getting paid) .. Short stack - under the gun, pushes all in. Re-raised all in from large stack next to him. Big Blind looks down, (2nd biggest stack) and pushes all in. UTG - A Q Next A K BB A A anyway, flop comes with 4 spades and the AK, large stack takes it with A spades and takes a little bit of a commanding chip lead. Nice to see these hands happen in live play as people are always saying that the online games are fixed and this would never happen etc etc etc.... I was playing my usual Nuts poker game at Dianes last night and we were 6 handed at the final table. Most stacks were fairly even, range was about 12000 to 4000. In consecutive hands went from having 7000 chips to out... First hand small stack pushes from 2nd position with 4000 (blinds are 500,1000), I look down on the big blind and have A,K so I call- he turns over Kings which hold up. Very next hand (I've only got 3 BB) I'm in the small and have A,Q- obviously push and the BB calls, turning over Kings again! That's poker though, only disappointment is that (with the league finishing next week after 12 weeks) I needed to win last night to have a chance of winning the league. 2nd's in the bag now, so at least it gives me something to build on for next season... Guy pushed all in and I had AK so I called as I was pretty shorted stacked. He turned over AJ and hit a J on the Turn. Exact same thing happened except the J came on the River when I was playing on Sunday at a nuts league game. Which made it sicker. Was good fun thou and would play it again. Although Captain Bigsmak should do the honours just in case;) I think it will be a problem if none of us are registered- I've played before without being registered (which they're quite happy to allow in normal events) but I can't see them making a rule of team captains having to be registered then ignoring it. First time it was for all his chips, he'd raised under the gun.> I have AQ suited. He's put in about 800, blinds 100-200. I push for all his 4000 chips... All folded and he looks down and says I have to call, with 10 J off suit. 10 on river. About and hour and a bit later I have 4000 odd chips left and am very short stacked. Blinds 300-600. I push all in UTG with 44, He pushes chips straight in. A 5 offsuit. Thinks its a great hand. The flop produces a 4. I have trips.. But by the time the river arives a 2 and 3 have also appeared. Straight for the donk, leaving for me. So I went to the cash game.. Sat with 60 and within 25 mins I'm up to 120. flop trip 8s with my 87suited, well ended up all in against A 8. First hand after the break, first to act limps, second to act (forest) raises to 2000, (blinds 2/400), folds to me on button and I have Aces, go all in, everyone folds back to forest and he calls as its only another 1500 or so to call. The 3 times I did not get paid I went in ahead and lost to straights. QQ Vs 77 44 vs A5 (and I hit my 4) AQsuited, lost to 78 (crazy times) A bit disheartened by it all. Never got paid last night.
