Na i think the free poker is a great way to get new players along to the casino, I think the majority of folk dont grudge paying the ?30 buy in when knocked out. Freeroll tourney it was with 10 seats to a ?200 + ?20 tourney on Sky later this month. Managed to bag myself a seat for it :-). Think the tourney is going to be covered on sky sports and obv 865. I knocked 3 people out of the BH, 3 got paid, the first hand of the final table (6) I had an A7, the small blind pushed, he had 4,500 chips (blinds at 300/600), he had pushed on our previous table a few times, his range was any two cards, I had 12,500 chips, if I win this hand, I have double what the 2nd placed player has in chips, there will be 5 left and I have a strong chance of winning this tournament and picking up a LOT of dead chips around the bubble. I call and he shows KQ. I flop the Ace, turn J, river T... I still managed to reach heads-up, my final hand, I was down at around 6,000, my opponent with 30,000, I push with blinds at 400/800 with J9, I get a call, he shows T9, flop xx8, turn 7, river 6... ?51 for the 2nd place and ?24 for the bounties. In my second game, I reached heads-up in this as well, the second hand heads-up, I'm on the button with pocket 10's, blinds at 500/1000, I have about 19,000, he has 57,000. I raise to 2,500, he calls, the flop is 568, he pushes all in, a blind man could tell you he has a 7 here, what would you do? I call, he shows J7, turn 4... over. A nice ?91 for the 2nd place again, I'm just a bit gutted, I feel if that second heads-up match had lasted a bit longer I would have turned it around. Based on that, should I have folded? I'm level in chips if my hand holds with a great chance of winning the game although 40-50% of the time, I'm losing the hand. I've just looked at the player's sharkscope, he has cashed for just under ?7K in MTT's on sky, he has cashed in his last 4 MTT's, winning in 2 of them (including the one tonight). Good results. Blinds at 600/1200 100 Ante. Back to the grind on Saturday! Its been great fun. Defo a step up from APAT and other games ive played. I think i have held my own, I made a couple of mistakes but the structure allows you to make the comeback. A few pros were playing today including Neil Channing, Marc Goodwin, Bepe fi Endenders lol.
