Thinking about going up tomorrow to check it out and potentially playing the ?100 6-max if it isn't sold out You can wander in all right but you need to be registered with Pokerstars as you can only pay in via your Pokerstars account. No cash buy ins are allowed due to the licensing laws ie its not a casino. I'm not sure if they can set you up and account there and then so you can deposit by card or not. magicTs
Played the ?100 side game at the UKIPT last night. Finished 17th out of 125. Not enough for a cash, booooooooooo! Played in that on Thursday. 2nd out of 98 so a cheeky wee ?2k cash. We flipped for 1st/2nd as they were only allowed to play until 3am. Almost identical stacks, I have QJ, he has J5 and the sodding 5 hits ! ?750 difference but hey ho not a bad nights work.

Era Macaroons
Ye know how sometimes theres an air of inevibility about things, well....... Sat down with BBJ bang opposite me, we were both very tight, till I hold AQ on a Q high flop, busted to pocket Aces, 1st life gone. few hands later Im TT, in go the chips again V pocket aces pre flop, but i hit my Ten , im alive. couple of nice wee pots and the door starts to open for me BBJ has couple of minor pots at very start but nothing of note the break comes n goes, soon after BBJ & I both sitting with approx starting stack and blinds getting bigger BBJ folds pocket JJ to bigstacks raise and the table feels theres been an error couple of hands later BBJ raises my BB (AQ off) , i call + 1 other, flop comes QJx (2 Hearts), BBJ bets, I call other folds, turn another heart so flush is now on and I spot BBJ doesnt like it at all, I'm quids in...so are all the chips, this will be great , cant wait to slag him on kickback....as he flips over another pocket JJ and sends me to the rail scratching ma hied. I thought we were mates. on the upside , home in time for match of the day, girlfriend thinks im great for coming home early and saved me a taxi fare:thumbsup: as unfortunatley i was out before the buses finished. lol, wp, hope you went on to cash. Larry
I couldn't believe people were shocked that I layed down JJ pre flop?? 200/400 blinds and I had 8K, I raise, the boy re raised it pretty big, and I let it go. He actually told me later he had me beat, not sure If It was true or not but I'm sure laying it down wasn't a terrible play. I did turn over my JJJ versus you thinking 'this jammy git has hit the flush' Pretty unlucky that you ran into AA twice and my set. Anyway, unfortunately about half an hour or so later..I get 99 on the button raise it up 3X..BB calls..comes out 774 he bets 3k I only have 7.5K left and push all in...He calls with............Q 10 turn..10..river blank. Gutted.

The Merse
I had a 2 month break. Started playing again about 10 days ago. Deposited ?300, ran it up to ?1,200. But run like absolute shit the last few days and down to ?800 again. Last couple of nights have been a joke. Running into set over set. Everytime I'm getting a premium pair i'm running into higher ones too. Other day i was playing 50/1. Had run my 100 stack up to about 240. Get QQ, run it into a guy who has KK and he only had 60 stack so was happy enough to get it in pre. His KK holds, he doubles up. 3 hands later I get AA and run into the same guy who has KK again, but he spikes a K and boom I've doubled him up again! It's a cruel game! Was playing the ?33 bounty hunter on Sky on Thursday too. Take out two players in the first couple of levels. Starting stack 2000, im up to just under 6000. Blinds are 75/150. Only one player on the table has a stack to rival mine. I get dealt KK, he gets dealt AA. Bye bye.

Bigsmak
Went to the casino then.. Came about 16th out of 60ish.. . Was pretty tight, never really got involved. Not the right kind of game to do well there. Sat around the average stack all night, win one lose one.. You know the score.. Especially when you are at a table with 2 or 3 crazies who play nearly every single hand for the first 3 levels of blinds. You can't make them fold pre-flop if they even have something that looks like a face card. lol.. Still. I enjoyed it and am actually thinking about playing a bit more next year again. In Absentia
whats the situ with dealers?? house dealers or what ? Self deal until final table where it is dealt by casino. Normally there are plenty of volunteers to deal so if you don't want to deal it should be fine although it's not guaranteed. The circus is always self deal even for the 150 game they had at Xmas which is pretty poor really. I can't seem to change my original post but the late reg is only 2 levels not 3. So you have to be registered for 2pm. There is also chip penalties for late reg. 200 for level 1 500 for level 2. Hope to see some folk there. It seems it's just the US players that are affected. Anyway, hello again poker thread! I've hardly been playing on sky, just the odd Friday/Saturday main event. I've been mainly on pokerstars, I had a big tourney win a few weeks ago, $3,500 for a $33 buy-in. I've been 8-tabling sit'n'go's, $16 9-man and occasionally 18-man and I've been 2-4-tabling 50c/$1 and $1/$2 cash CAP games with decent success. Have any other poker-thread regs played the CAP games? If you have the right strategy, I feel you can make good money without risking a lot.

Larry
I played CAP a few times, with the idea that more players would be willing to push/call all in with marginal hands. So I'll take advantage of that I thought, but I turned out to be one of the players calling all in with marginal hands I've still got a little bit on Full Tilt and was playing this morning. Hopefully both sites keep open, I haven't really played anywhere else. I like playing big field guarantees, what site would be best for this after stars and tilt? HMFC4ME
In response to Bigsmak in another thread im here for some poker chat lol. Im not reading through all 60 odd pages so forgive me if I repeat anything that's already been said. How many people on kickback play poker for fun/for cash(cash is fun no?) is there a kickback poker club(online) currently running? if so how do i join, if not, anyone want to join one on stars? I play quite regularly $3.50 9-seaters, some $<10 MTT's if I have time and if Im feeling like a grind 5p/10p ring games. My last bad beat was on Saturday night, playing live ring game at a club I've just discovered. blinds are 25p/25p and straddling is allowed(which I hate!) I've joined with ?25 Im playing super tight as I don't know any of the players. after folding several hands and watching how the pot gets over inflated by fish with rags i decide to get involved when I picked up aces(as most people would). Im in late position, about 6/7 calls for 25p already, I raise to ?3(may seem OTT but at this table it was standard!), I get two callers(both of whom had been in every pot). flop comes down J,J,6. first to act checks, next one bets(?8 if I recall), I call(a mistake in hindsight, should've raised). then I think the other guy folded. so two of us left now. next card comes down was blank, he bets i reraise all in(which IIRC was still quite a decent sized raise compared to pot). he calls!! turns over K6off!! low and behold the hand went the way of the fish, 6 on the river, giving him full house. Worst of all! he takes my money and turns to me to say "You know what your mistake was? its the first hand you've played" I could have punched him lol well, I didn't punch him, I proceded to buy in again and got put out with AKs & then for a final time with Q9s(both another 2 bad beats but this post is long enough already). Needless to say I wont be going back, 1 fish is fun, 3 fish is payday, table full of fish well they'll have the shark for dinner lol
