Neil Patey 'thinks they'll make it through to the next ST sales and that they'll get fresh investment in?' That's bold thinking right there. Perhaps in a more traditionally structured business that may well happen, but The The Rangers is not a traditionally run business, it's effectively a pack of money hungry hyenas chomping on the carcass of 'big hoose' asset. The Old Tolbooth
Remember folks that Administration comes with a transfer ban as part of the sanction. It feasible they will have to make significant cuts to the playing staff but be unable to replace them until January at the earliest. Surely the transfer ban would have to be extended to February 1st, just like ours. I guess this is when we find out if the rules really ARE the same

Quite a few will - you've only got to wave the old "No Surrender" line at them and they'll fork out. They're being royally conned (excuse the pun) and a fair percentage really have not got a clue as to where all the money has really gone. Best line I heard last year from one who works in my place was " Charles Green really knows what it's all about - he's got a real grasp of our traditions and what makes Rangers and Rangers supporters tick". I laughed most of the day at that one!! What's worse is he still believes that!!!
SectionDJambo
Rangers fans may see this as a double whammy opportunity. If they don't buy season tickets and help bail these "spivs" out, it may result in another administration event. This would get rid of their "spivs" problem and many of them still feel aggrieved at the top league clubs for not letting them back in at the top. Their return to the top league would be delayed further, hurting the clubs they the for voting against them. I would also imagine that many feel that they would be better taking another hit now, to try to cleanse their club, for good, of people who are only there to make a quick profit. The thing is, the spivs have them by the balls. An admin event will see RIFC in control. A quick asset pre-pack and full control of the fixed assets is theirs. The only way they would be fully rid of the spivs in that scenario would be to threaten to depart from Ibronx. Having an empty football ground isn't much use to spivs.

They would be better off taking the hit now, but this set of spivs will somehow still end up owning the real assets and only the name will be in admin2 so not so good for the fans having not only buy back their club, but end up paying rent to the uber spivs. Their big problem now is the cash float is running out, season tickets will buy time not plug the ?14m hole, and with with no credit facilities and people need paying that when it gets bad and I cant see the spivs putting their hands in their own pockets, instead they will turn to the fans again and again. NOT buying season tickets will actually help, they need to starve the spivs, take a hit, and it will be better for the long term, otherwise they will just be a cash cow ad infinite

I personally can't see an end to all of this for them unless there's another liquidation and another Newco, giving the fans control. Even then all their fixed assets will have gone! DETTY29
The problem is that the Rangers business model doesn't work anymore. Their fixed costs alone are too expensive as it is The success the fans crave comes at a price hence why ?800k spent on Templeton, ?7k a week on Black, Sheils, Daly, and even guzumping Inverness Caley for more than double per week what Nicky Clark would have accepted. They are going to have to seriously consider lowering salaries to just above mid range clubs and getting rid of Murray park. Indeed, there is an arguement that with Celtic's crowds dwindling at an alarming rate without the bigotted rivalry, no football sponsorship etc - if they cut their costs right back for a season or 2, and hope Celtic don't progress in the CL (which if Brown had been corrctly sent off against the Khazi's they wouldn't have last time), the gap between the 2 might not be as big once they come back.
