Do people still read his shite? He's clueless.

He certainly knows nowt about lifts. Never worked at ibrox but surely they can just upgrade the control panel and door operator if required. Keeping the old car, machine, guides etc. and as for the bit about the wiring? Peanuts in the grand scale of things

I think whoever his source is just feeds him pish to see if he is stupid enough to believe it. Either that or he makes it up as he goes along. His blogs seem to be getting more ridiculous the longer all this rangers nonsense continues.

There was some talk of major safety concerns about the Club Deck there. Has it been open this season?

I would doubt that Ashley would see spending lots of money on Ibrox as a good investment.

I would suggest if Bertie can get a safety cert then it unlikely the Club deck has any real issues.

Not sure what you are waiting on. They would be bust now had it not been for Ashley's emergency funding. The question is whether that continues and the SFA turn a blind eye to the restrictions they tried to impose.

Ally talking pish again as I'm pretty sure they kept loads of there players. Sounds to me he is trying to make out that it's been much harder for them than us. When in reality they have the 2nd biggest budget in scottish football and it's his poor management and lack of any imagination in the transfer market that is hindering them this season.

I would doubt that Ashley would see spending lots of money on Ibrox as a good investment.

It could explain where this Irishman is getting his figure from, of around ?18 million, which was the approximate cost of installing the club deck at Ibrox (sure, a major part of the costing was equipment which had to be brought in for the installation, have some recollection that specialist equipment was needed which was located, at the time, in South America). Take the original cost, replicate it in an up to date story, stick it in print and it will sell to at least half of the OF divide.

The only reason Ashley would upgrade the stadium would be if the intention was to continue to use it as a football/sporting arena. I would think that if he is simply looking to make money it would go to the highest bidder for the land in the event of a sale scenario, irrespective of what the buyers intended using said land for.

Re the state of Ibrokes, part of the roof fell down during a game last season(google it), fortunately no one was hurt. They have done no work on it for over 3 years other than work that absolutely needed to be done. This is a building that is open to the elements so you scrimp on maintenance at your peril, look at what the budge said about the work required at tynecastle, so is the 18/20 million figure realistic? possibly

It's no secret that it is in a poor state, how poor? Well, that's always a guess unless you have access to surveyors reports and maintenance records. There have always been rumours about asbestos in some of the stands, if that's true and major maintenance/repairs are required, that adds a massive cost onto the bill.

Mike ashley is only in this for what he can get from the retail side, he has no interest in buying the club. Once he gets what he wants, sown up watertight, he'll be offski.

Re sevco signing players in january? they'll be lucky to hold onto the players they already have. They are burning through cash, unless someone is willing to just give them cash to burn, they will not be signing players in january. only way I can see players coming in is if ashley lets them have a couple of toon players on loan.

They have  50? players  and the extra cost them the eight million they need to survive next year financially.

So if Sally buys players he will need to get rid of a few dead wood lads.

PS  Killie to stuff them today, go on the Killie.

As was seen at ER at end of last season, players with contracts and on good money may decide to stay put, at least to the summer. Who can Sevco sell in January apart from McLeod and Wallace? Methinks the high wage bill may turn around and bite Sally in his ever expanding bum. Does anyone believe that the likes of Elbows, Miller, Black, etc. will voluntarily leave in January.

A quick check of their squad shows a total of 20 players over 21 years of age. That number cannot be cheap to maintain. In comparison Hearts have only 12 players over 21, whom I expect will be on average lower money than their Hun counterparts.

I would doubt that Ashley would see spending lots of money on Ibrox as a good investment.

It would depend on what he wanted it for.  The redevelopment of Highbury gives a good example of what can be done with older stadia, even if they're listed buildings.  If Ashley was inclined to take the ground, get the Huns out and sell on for redevelopment, perhaps with outline planning permission, he'd have the potential to make a huge financial killing.

Of course, it's likely that he plans no such thing - but it might crossed someone's mind!

Am I right in seeing that they have about 51 players on the books?  The difference , the ?8Million, seems to be mostly getting spent on them.

Get the player total to 20, and they will balance their books .

Mind , I don't care, and I suspect neither does Ashley, who will simply mop up the assets for pennies.

51 players isn't an unreasonable number. I'd be surprised if we've got many less than that. I'm guessing you're confusing total number on the books with first team squad size.

IIRC, first team squad costs were about ?7m for 2012-13. There clearly are significant savings to be made there, but not ?8m!

They won't walk in January, because they will never manage to find a better deal, so Sevco will probably struggle to reduce the wage bill over the remainder of this season.  But If they are all out of contract at the end of the season then they will leave at that time if Rangers want them to, the question will be who do they replace them with?

The fans will no doubt expect to see some big signings, but the reality is that, without a serious injection of capital, Rangers will be mainly looking at out of contract players coming in on much lower deals than the players they replace.  That is hardly going to put them in a place where they can seriously compete with Celtic, even assuming they are back in the same division as Celtic.

It's a small world in the Nomad business.  It seems that WH Ireland took over clients and assets from a company called Pritchard Stockbrokers which was in administration in 2012.

http://wh-ireland.co.uk/news/wh-ireland/transfer-of-client-stock-assets-under-management-from-pritchard-stockbrokers-limited-to-wh-ireland-limited

Some may have heard of Pritchard's before as Craig Whyte was its company secretary.  I won't say any more about the reasons for Pritchard's administration in light of current legal proceedings, but a Google search of Pritchard's and Whyte might give some background.

Cheers for that . I did as you suggested and noticed this -

The stockbroker, who note their banker in their latest annual accounts as Lloyds Banking Group, reported profits of just ?18,077 for the year to June 30, 2011, against a loss of ?9355 a year earlier

That'll be the same bank that was trying to flog Rangers (RIP) ?

Rangers get just one eighth from Sports Direct compared to their previous deal with JJB ?...Ban called for by Union of Fans

"That means for every ?10 spent by Rangers fans on merchandise, the club receives only around 75p. The accounts also reveal that Rangers Retail has an obligation to purchase stock at a higher price than it is able to be sold at.

"In the second half of the year covered by the accounts, it appears that the portion of profit due to the club is ?2k.

"For comparative purposes, the much maligned JJB agreement, our previous retail deal, made the club a minimum of ?4.8m a year over the term of the deal, over eight times the amount we are making from Sports Direct.

"David Somers [the Rangers chairman] stated recently that Rangers 'make quite a lot of money' from the Sports Direct deal, but that is not how the accounts read in our analysis. In fact, despite the loyalty of the Rangers fans seeing ?7.6m spent on retail in the year covered by the accounts, the club's share of that spending is ?590k.

If the Orcs take this to heart and turn on Ashley he'll be off. Even if he comes out and changes the deal they will still have lost faith in him if they ever had any in the first place.

OK, so they are calling on a boycott of the merchandising? That will suit MA fine, not Rangers though because they have to buy the unsold stock...would be funny though if this was the tipping point. A boycott meaning Rangers have to buy too much stock thus going bust.

There's a big difference having some land to develop next to Islington in London compared with a shitip in Govan

My mate from Maryhill came up with a "get rich" plan, when Minty was trying to get the casino built in Govan.  Buy cheap tenement houses around greyskull and when the casino comes the price will sky rocket.  He was working in far east Russia and would buy a property every trip home with his bonus. He must have had a portfolio of about 6-10 properties all bought at bottom dollar and as we all know Minty lost out and the property value for Govan went down to almost zero.   Made as much money there as his investment in a Belgian ostrich farm.

Yep, not as funny as C. Green racing one of his horses at a French meeting the other day, it's name was "Ibrox".

Tried to cut corners by racing across the middle of the track; stewards turned a blind eye.  Jockey was too fat to guide it properly.

Fell down theatrically - but then (sadly) died.

Then rose again.

Then fell again and died again.
