Jambos1983
Really? Pass, pass, pass...sense the crowd and opposition becoming restless, take the pish, score or draw a foul... And yes Barca did take the pish at one point in the 1st half...Pique and Busquets had about 6 one-twos back and forth because there was nothing else to do! Seriously, if you think Barcelona are boring.... You reckon 6 one twos is exciting. Wow. Barca are great to watch normally. They were boring as hell against Madrid though. Madrid didn't let them pass their way through them which is the correct way to play barca. Madrid were also boring as hell and it was a dull match overall
Jambos1983
Then the problem lies with the Mourinho. Madrid and Barca have taken high scoring results against each other in the past and it hasn't stopped them being attacking in the next game. Guardiola's tactics are all about possession. If you have the ball then your opponents don?t, simple and very effective. Whilst it can grate me at times with the insistence that the perfect goal always has to be scored their football is anything but boring. What is boring is watching a once magnificent team who have had some of the greatest attacking players in the world grace the shirt, sit back against their great rivals because they can't figure out how to beat a team at their own game. Only they have figured it out. See the Spanish cup. Mourinho knows how to win trophies despite anyone's thoughts on him as a person
RussAsia
Tactics for Real should have been to close down quickly in midfield.. give away cheap fouls to disrupt barca play.. However if you are attacking play Ronaldo against Alves, put Di Maria against whoever was going to be the makeshift left back (puyol in this case) and play Benzema up front.. get the ball out to Di Maria then get crosses in.. if you could move Pique out of position using Ozil or whoever you would then be left with Alves and Mascherano against Ronaldo and Benzema.. the Real players should win every header in those situations.. Apparently his tactics though were to keep it 0-0 until the last 5 or 10 minutes using any way possible.. then throw on Kaka in the hope of sneaking a late goal.. Tactical genius?? Mourinho knows how to win trophies despite anyone's thoughts on him as a person I agree, at the end of the day, regardless of what people think about him he will be judged on the amount of trophies he has won. No one can take that away from him, but Madrid aren't the only team to have beaten Barca this season and the others that have, have done it on a tenth of the budget and resources that Jose has at his disposal. Broxburn_Jambo
Lawson has this spot on. Alves should have walked first half. He's an odious wee prick. Totally disagree, the "foul" he was booked for was a dive.

No, Madrid fans, given the amount of money they have spent, would have the realistic expectation that they could compete with Barca. The fact that they cant demonstrates that they have wasted millions on players who are not good enough at the top level.
