Day off today to recover from the weekend. Watched “Ghosts of war”.

Utter shite!!! The last 30 minutes are right up there with the biggest load of pish I’ve ever watched. I seem to be an optomist when watching films. I always think they really cant be this bad and there must be a really good ending. Sadly not for this dugshit!!!

1/10

Just watched it and I agree that the last 30mins are terrible.

Not bad cast as well and pretty violent but nothing scary like most modern horrors.

4/10 for me (extra points for Billy Zane cameo 😎)

Richard Jewell.  8/10

I was totally engrossed. Another terrific film from my favourite actor, and rapidly becoming my favourite director.

Structure, plotting and pacing are Eastwood's strengths. He's vastly superior to Ron Howard, who makes films of a similar style.

I would strongly recommend sticking with it, I started watching and was eventually hooked and it turned out to be brilliant (IMHO)

The King

Film about Henry the 5th on Netflix.

Enjoyed watching this and had what I would imagine is a realistic battle scene at the end.

Watch out for Robert Pattinson as the son of the French king.

7/10

The Endless Trench.

A Spanish language movie about the "moles" who had to go into hiding in attics, crawl spaces etc, to avoid execution after the Spanish Civil War. Many of them remained hidden for thirty years or more until Franco granted them amnesty.

Anything with Statham will do me. You know they’re not going to win any acting awards, but that’s not why we watch  them. Love Crank and Transporter

Fantasy Island: Nostalgic, shit acting, mysterious storyline, some horror, some comedy.

Hard to recommend it.   Not sure what the plan is, if they are going to do a series or sequel.   Hope they ditch the main actors, total pish.

5/10

we had never gotten round to watching this as we find we need to be in the mood for a subtitled film, particularly over 2hs.

wow, what a twisted black comedy that was, absolutely loved it.

Black and blue, 2019, sky, not bad, 7/10, too much violence for me, seems

to be the theme these days.

Rewatched Local Hero after a long long gap since the first watch.

Persuaded Mrs VM to watch it on my recommendation so no pressure.

What a gorgeous witty and charming film. New the basic plot from previous but it’s all about the characters and the fabulous acting performances that make the film.

The Mark Knopfler soundtrack brings a tear to the eye.

Its interesting watching a film now compared to say 30 years ago as you appreciate different aspects as you get older.

If you haven’t seen this dare I say it “classic” you won’t be disappointed 👍

And  has 2 of my favourite actors in it. Mel Gibson and the outrageously good Walter Goggins.

Rewatched The Rock and Con Air.

Loved the movies when they came out and still do.

Just got Face Off to complete the trinity

Ps Sean Connery was excellent in the Rock

The Peanut Butter Falcon.

Shia Labeouf, Zack Gottasagen and a very attractive Dakota Johnson.

Interesting film all about a Down syndrome man who runs away with the dream of becoming a pro wrestler. Taken under the wing of a fisherman on the run from some nasties.

The film was apparently written completely for Zack after the team behind it discovered him some time earlier at a summer camp.

It’s very charming in places and does have some very funny moments. The bond between the 2 male leads requires no acting. You can tell they genuinely are mates which is lovely.

Plot is a bit wobbly at times and the ending is just stupid.

7 out of 10.

Boss Level

Fun action flick starring Frank Grillo (kingdom, Captain America) about a man that keeps reliving the same day of his death over and over (Groundhog day/Edge of tomorrow)

Lots of action with a good few laughs added in.

Also stars Mel Gibson and Naomi Watts

8/10
