the boy, 7/10 on Netflix. Got a soft spot for Lauren Cohan and the film looked quite creepy so I thought I’d give it a go. Was actually really enjoyable and had shades of the servant series on Apple TV. The end let things down a tad but this was a very good effort at a horror

RUN - Netflix

Watched this and it was about a teenager Chloe who is raised by her mother in total isolation. Her mother has totally controlled her since she was born but she starts to explore her mother's secrets.

decent flick with plenty twists and some sweaty palm moments. A bit like Misery

7/10

Ron Burgundy

Killing Escobar on iPlayer. About how a group of mercenaries led by a Scotsman were employed by another cartel to kill Pablo. One of those docudrama things, really enjoyed it.

I watched that on catch up last night. Thought it was pretty decent. They weren't that far away from pulling it off

sometimes films based on real events should not be made. The Josef fritzl case being one of those times.  This was just a mess and as a father myself just made me realise how much of a **** the man was. Upsetting to watch, not because it was particularly graphic but just because it made you think about the evil that was present in this man

Benny loves you 7/10 for pure enjoyment (acting and plot is stupid)

A really cheesy horror comedy that is great if your not looking for a serious film (might help to be drunk while watching it 🤣) I wasn't tho

It’s been slated by the critics. Not important but apparently the writer of the book it’s based on is a bit of an oddball

You can’t watch Godzilla on telly.

It was stupid

and awesome

I also saw Godzilla v Kong this week.

Utter shite in the best possible way.

Sometimes you want a brain dead film with no plot and giant monsters knocking the shite out of each other.

:yas:

Also saw Contagion(2011).

Chillingly accurate and prophetic.

The Laundromat (prime)

great cast with Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman etc but what a weird film . About how rich folk con the average person (namely insurance in this case) .  Genuinely have no idea what to make of it. A comedy of sorts apparently. Watchable though

Aye, watched it last night and Kong is more of a plot device than the actual star of his own film.

Vlad Magic

Watched The Imitation Game” with Benedict Cumberbatch the other night.

Great performance from Benedict portraying the hugely influential Alan Turing as he attempted to break the Nazi Enigma code during the 2nd World War.

He was also homosexual which back then was not acceptable.

Fantastic film if you haven’t seen it.

9/10 👍

Peter Rabbit 2. My 5 year old daughter loved it. My 10 year old son hated it.

My son will get his revenge today as it is Godzilla v Kong.

Great to have cinemas back open. You know you go a lot when staff recognise you from over a year ago.

Very much reduced capacity. Seats booked online with loads unavailabl due to distancing. I go to Odeon Wester Hailes (staff are nice, closer to me and loads of parking...) and there is food available. My kids take their own sweets and I got a tea from Costa.

Tracj & trace, hand sanitisers and you have to wear you mask at all times other than when you are in your seat. Toilet numbers are restricted - which is strange as all it does is form a queue. ie the gents has 3 stalls and only the one at the far right can be used. I though (probably wrongly) that the middle trap could have been closed and the other two left available.

This is the same as after lockdown 1.

No problem. As a family we love going to the cinema and we feared our local wouldnt reopen as a number of cinemas were struggling. We are delighted to see it re-open with a lot of the old regular staff.

Felt safer in the cinema than going shopping.
