ArmiyaRomanova
Watched two today, Peter Mullan's newie NEDS and Sofia Coppola's Somewhere. Could two films be more different? Although NEDS ably brought back memories I'd rather forget (in terms of time and place), Coppola's effort was the more engaging - another tale of contemporary ennui that mercifully lacks the casual racism that marred Lost In Translation. Louise
Tron Awesome special effects Awesome Soundtrack Jeff Bridges actually playing his character as the Dude. Shoddy Storyline. 7/10 Absolutely agreed. Great visuals and soundtrack but very sketchy plot and cringeworthy script. I reckon if it had been made by a studio other than Disney and therefore aimed at an older audience it could have been twice the film, such potential wasted. Also WTF was with Martin Sheen? Thought he was David Bowie at first, couldn't stop laughing. 7/

Moriarty
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World. Had heard good things from some of my friends. Creepy Lurker
La Ville Est Tranquille - 5/10 Didn't hate this film, but found it a bit...I don't know how I'd describe this. It was meant to show Marseille's social problems by looking at the lives of several characters and how they all linked together, but it did it in a typically melodramatic French fashion, which I felt lessened its impact. Watching it was a worthwhile exercise in keeping myself thinking in French, but that's about it. Wouldn't really recommend it.
