Jambojohnnyboy Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 The Fighter - 9/10. A fantastic movie with an outstanding performance by Christian Bale.
Harry Palmer Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Back to the Future 9/10 88 miles per hour! Alan Silvestri music....which is why he was employed on Predator.
Creepy Lurker Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Mesrine: Killer Instinct - 6/10 Had heard some really good reviews about this, so thought that I'd give it a watch. Have to say that I was a bit disappointed, never struck me as any more than an average gangster film.
tedarmy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 king of kong 9/10 watched this after seeing it recommended on here-great film
tedarmy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 the other guys 5/10 i was disappointed with this film the reviews were great, the trailers looked good and i usually like will ferrell but i just didn`t find it funny

Randle P McMurphy Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 watched 2 foreign language films recommended on here: Pan's Labrynth 8/10 Old Boy 9.5/10 really enjoyed both of them with Old Boy especially recommended
FWJ Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Unstoppable. Wasn't expecting much and didn't think they'd be able to sustain it for an hour and a half but you didn't really have to suspend your disbelief too much and I enjoyed it. Entertaining bubble gum for the brain. 7 out of 10.
Juan Rom?n Riquelme Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Gone Baby Gone. 8/10 Cassey Affleck is good at acting.
kiltedjedi Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Some others I've watched recently Shrek forever after - Rather pedestrian final chapter, kids gave up 1/2 way through it 3/10 Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland - Great film, well cast and kept the kids interested without overly scaring them 8/10 How to tame your dragon - Rather enjoyable kids flick 7/10 Guess that shows that me and the Missus need to watch more adult oriented films.
Boris Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Seen it loads of times, but watched Kelly's Hereos again the other night. Genius.
tedarmy Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 scott pilgrim vs the world 8.5/10 really enjoyed it
Guest GhostHunter Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Exhibit A - quite possibly on of the most disturbing and frightening films I've seen. It's filmed from a camcorder, but that's the only way it could've been done - and when you watch it, you realise it could very well be a true story happening next door to you. I was drained after watching it. 8/10
clanmac Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 The Invincible.2/10. Watched it because of Tim Roth, but not very well edited, ment to be based on true story but did'nt really work.
Harry Palmer Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) My Best Friend Seen it before and it's in French...fortunately I can still remember some of the French I was taught... to understand the film. Enjoyable....iplayer. 8/10 Edited February 3, 2011 by Arnold
rudi must stay Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 4,3,2,1 Great acting throughout, no doubt the majority of the cast will go onto bigger things. But the way it was put together made it a bit of a struggle to watch, and some of the time I didn't have a clue what was going on. 6/10
AWM Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 The Shawshank Redemption 8/10 First time I've seen it.
Dunks Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 The Lovely Bones - really enjoyed this, although there was one scene that crossed the line. 8/10 Mrs Dunks gave it a 6.5/10 having read the book
Guest GhostHunter Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 A Bloody Aria - slow burner.... 6/10
Ray Gin Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Tell No-one Top class French mystery thriller, that is a bit like "The Fugitive", only better. 8.5/10
rudi must stay Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) The Fighter An instant classic - superb acting and some scenes that are incredibly powerful 9/10 Edited February 5, 2011 by rudi must stay
Groot Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 The Town - 7/10 entertaining film and a good directorial debut by Mr Affleck
Sterling Archer Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 The Town - 7/10 entertaining film and a good directorial debut by Mr Affleck Same, I was just watching the theatrical version, would be keen to see the full length one before giving a score.
rudi must stay Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 The Departed Brilliant. throughougly unpleasant characters and some brilliant insults, as well as some big name actors on top form. 8/10
Guest GhostHunter Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 The Troll Hunter - brilliant wee indie from Norway...very very well done. 7/10
Chris Benoit Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 The Town - 7/10 entertaining film and a good directorial debut by Mr Affleck Gone Baby Gone was his first
Groot Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Gone Baby Gone was his first oops, thought I'd read somewhere that was the first time he'd directed
Chris Benoit Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 oops, thought I'd read somewhere that was the first time he'd directed Oh well you can't get it right all the time
Commander Harris Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 the fighter 4/5 guid shit from Christian Bale and marky mark.
Guest GhostHunter Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Sanctum....Rectum more like. Think of Descent, except without the creatures. Absolute Horseshit. 3/10
vegas-voss Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Sanctum....Rectum more like. Think of Descent, except without the creatures. Absolute Horseshit. 3/10 A James Cameron cash in then ?
P-Dizzle Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Starship Troopers 3: Marauder - 0/10 And I thought Starship Troopers 2 was bad. The low budget CGI is actually worse than the 1997 original. The story is rubbish and the social and political undertones are put across really poorly. This carcass has well and truly had the shit kicked out of it. Worst film I've ever seen.
Sexton Hardcastle Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I seen that advertised the other night. It brought back painful memories of "Titanic 2". It was on one of the shabby bravo-ish channels. Films that never make it to the cinema always seem to pan out that way.
Eric Shin Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Starship Troopers 3: Marauder - 0/10 And I thought Starship Troopers 2 was bad. The low budget CGI is actually worse than the 1997 original. The story is rubbish and the social and political undertones are put across really poorly. This carcass has well and truly had the shit kicked out of it. Worst film I've ever seen. Downloaded 1,2 & 3 last night , had only watched the last 30 minutes of the 1st one and thought it pretty decent.........i'll skip the other 2.
P-Dizzle Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Downloaded 1,2 & 3 last night , had only watched the last 30 minutes of the 1st one and thought it pretty decent.........i'll skip the other 2. The first Starship Troopers is a great film. Good production values, action and story. The other two were made on a fraction of the budget of the first one, and it really shows. Watch the first, but you're not missing out on anything if you don't see the other two. Edited February 8, 2011 by LPjambo91
rudi must stay Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 The Karate Kid Haven't seen the first one so I can't compare the two. But I quite liked this film, not too bad a story line and quite good characters, particularly Jackie Chan's. Who, while being an expert at karate, is also a very messed up person indeed. 6/10
Jambojohnnyboy Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Never Let Me Go - 8/10 Thought provoking, exceptionally acted but ultimately bleak movie about life and love and how quickly you can lose both.
Ray Gin Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 The Fighter Enjoyed this - good performances all-round, and Bale is on particularly good form as the crackhead older brother. 7.5/10
rudi must stay Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Surrogates Terrible. Ends just as it starts getting interesting 4/10
Debut 4 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 having a gangster film spell just now and watching a few of the oldies. Watched Casino the other day 9.5/10 Planning to watch Donnie Brasco tonight.
Ray Gin Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 having a gangster film spell just now and watching a few of the oldies. Watched Casino the other day 9.5/10 Planning to watch Donnie Brasco tonight. Both absolute classics and firm favourites.
Flankengott Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Went to see True Grit on Friday, thought it was excellent. The Big Lebow..., eh, Jeff Bridges, was fantastic, so was the girl playing the girl. Not just a remake. Edited February 13, 2011 by Flankengott
