The ruggedness of the hills suggest somewhere around Glencoe / Loch Leven but I can't find any similar viewpoint.

If its a sea loch, I'd guess these hills are on Mull.   So you would have been standing near Kilchoan (Mingary Castle) ?       Or maybe inland near Salen,  overlooking Loch Sunart ?

All roads lead to Gorgie

The mountain looks like Garbh Bheinn in Ardgour possibly.

Is it Loch Linnhe?

Yes, but the question is where was the photo taken from? The hotel below the spot will do :)

We have a winner :D

Photo taken from up on the cycle path with Ardsheal Estate in the foreground, looking over to Ardnamurchan.

A tenacious effort deserving of 4 points 😀

I will take that 😁 The hills across the loch looked like Ardgour, so I just had to follow google maps to find a hotel with that angle of view. It's down to luck as always though.

I think I know but I'll give someone else a chance. I don't want to rubbish the thread by getting too many right in one night.

Been up here all week - great base for everything around and access to Ardsheal Estate. Weather has been amazing - always helps

You'll be pleased to learn that the weather in the central belt has NOT been amazing.  😒

Glad to hear you're  having a good pre-season !!  😎

Lovely area. If you ever get a chance to climb Beinn a' Bheithir, right above the hotel, do it as the views of Loch Linnhe are stunning. I did that years ago when I was reasonably fit, it was a tough one though!

Indeed it was.  If you hadn't got it, the clue I'd lined up was "the  cooncil rubbish collectors might be there quite a while"   😉

Another possible clue might've included a reference to "Heartbreak Corner"?

Not quite so dramatic unfortunately. A bit of a ruin fell off and smashed the back of my head, sending me to the ground where a bit of metal entered the front. Ouch indeed. Ward 20 at the old Royal was home for a while 🙄

Where there's blame, there's a claim.

👍 Indeed.  My Mum used to frequent that  store when I was a laddie - and after learning  about grammar and apostrophes at school, I remember arguing with her  that there should be an apostrophe before the S.   😀

Ahhh, so THAT'S  where the term "bed-blocking" originates from .....   :whistling::jjyay:

Mossmorran?

Mossmoran would be to the left of the red transmitter lights. That is just an early morning view towards Kirkcaldy etc.

But ... point to you as I know what you mean.

I haven't seen the glow from Mossmorran recently.

Just had a wee search through my photos and found this. It's Mossmorran from the same location on 5th Oct, 2020 at 04.19.

Not quite an early mornimg sunsise, but quite impressive. Much anguish from the locals due to noise & pollution, iirc.

You can see the transmitter lights to the right.

Who lives in this house?

Having ruled out the family from Deliverance, PI Magnum, and many others, how about a wee clue?

I'm wondering what was on the telly at that time in the morning. 😁

I’ll give a clue but the pic was taken the night before.

2 grandsons stayed here with their mum but the grandad owned the house.

Check out this photo that I (eventually) unearthed ...

It was doing my nut in, so it was, and my gal was going mental at me for persevering.

😁
