Where is this?

Only just looked up Portmahomack (as I was clueless), and guess what?

We've got a coastal walk pecilled in for next year from Peterhead to Inverness taking in that stretch of the Moray Firth.

So, we'll have to add on a pilgrimage to Portmahomack. Cannae wait!

We did the entire Fife Coastal Path last year, and next up is (a section of) the Ayreshire Coastal Path with 🚴‍♀️'ing &🚶‍♂️'ing on the Isle of Bute too.

Who needs foreign holidays when we have so much beauty on our doorstep?

Thanks for that. The agent has only just phoned her this morning, but she deftly side-stepped the sales pitch and it'll be a while before any decision is made.

Sound advice, thanks.

Its certainly more expensive than we first thought, for sure. I mean to say £32K is hardly a pittance so serious thought required prior to commiting ... but ...

If you're happy with your one, which it seems that you are going by previous posts, then the potential re-sale value is almost not worth bothering about as you have it to enjoy for as long as it suits you.

If we go ahead then it'll be somewhere for keeps rather than an 'investment', if you know what I mean? Hence, I'll be deid before any re-sale. 😄

My in-laws had a static at Pettycur Bay for years and they had a 'no caravans over X amount of years old' policy there. Meaning that not only did the van depreciate at a frightening rate, they were forced to change or get out. Their site, their rules but worth checking. Interestingly, it was the site fees that put them off eventually which were extortionate.

A random guess. Isle of Colonsay?

Random guesses welcome. This one is incorrect. I'll provide a clue or two later :D

Looks like the Cuillins to the left, so should be the southern end of Skye.

Edit: Somewhere around Tarskavaig?

The answer is Elgol

1 point for the good Doctor, with half a point deducted for spelling

I've looked at some holiday snaps I took in Malta around 10 years ago. It looks similar to Valletta, but I can't find an specific match

Yup, looks like Valetta. Triggers memories of getting the ferry across the harbour to Valetta on the way to the game at Birkirkara

At least their PAOK style seats are the correct colours.

Funnily enough, I have an almost identical pic to the one you posted taken from a tourist boat but it was on a film camera so will be in my mega box of prints.

Our trip was a company paid-for jolly and was soooperb with even a cash allowance for shopping seeing as everyone's luggage was missing on arrival. Great weather and heaps of interesting guided tours & events.

Most vivid memory? The state of the roads which had me driving up the middle to avoid suspension destroying pot-holes (with vehicles coming the opposite way doing the same) resulting in repeated slowing down and veering side to side. Oh, and their fleet of, ahem, classic public transport buses.

I'd never even heard of the place, but spotted this on FB this morning

You'll have heard of Cullen Skink, though?

Super photo and I'm now wondering the date and who took it. Judging by the quality it's likely later than this one. I was seeking an old photo of the square at Newhaven showing the fishwives so as to come back with a historical 'where is this?' but couldn't find it despite seeing it in my mind's eye. however, I came across this 1874 photo by David Octavius Hill.

Every day's a school day - love Cullen Skink, but had never considered its origins.

The railway opened in 1886 for some context on dates

Its a lovely part of Scotland -  a patchwork of lovely wee old coastal villages from Pennan at the east end of the Moray coast right along past Banff, Cullen, Buckie, Spey Bay, Lossiemouth, Findhorn, Nairn etc.

Pennan featured in the 1980s film Local Hero.   Quite a few  ruined castles in that area too.   Challenging golf courses too.

I've never been but it looked so familiar, however my first thought was Devon or Cornwall and then I remembered the scenery around the Yorkshire coast was similar so got there in the end 👍

Worst Skink I've ever had was in Cullen. Don't remember the hotel name but its nearer the river by the big bit of viaduct.

Rockpool cafe or personal favourite is a takeaway from Lilys Kitchen(wee takeaway up the hill on main street).

Only first visited the moray coast 2/3 years back.

Stunning place, the  coastal road  from spey bay to cullen  is something  else.
