Pots at ?103.27 (would have been ?112 if I hadn't used 4 x 'cover' bets). I really need to decide what to do next. The returns I'm getting with this pot are excellent, but to lose this amount would sting.

 

I'll sleep on it tonight and decide what next - any advice is welcome. I'm thinking keep going, but I'm due a loss. Maybe withdraw ?40 (3 x my initial stake) and leave a healthy ?63 to play with?

 

It doesn't seem to take too long to get from ?50 to ?100 so I'll be halving my pot each time I reach ?100, if I do, until I hit a 0-0.

Not a bad idea. You could play the 1.5 market which pays out as soon as the second goal hits the net.

 

That way you could put bets on current in play 0-0s and 1-0s if the first bet pays out quick enough. Risky though.

Looking back on it though, I'm over it. :th_o:

 

As someone said earlier in the thread (maybe it was you?) nothing lost, nothing gained and it kept me occupied for a few hours. I'll probably start one again at some point but might throw in a few riskier bets.

To be honest, it was greed on my part. I'd withdrawn the ?50 and thought what the hell. The Ireland game had already started and it was a meaningless fixture - 2 things I'd religiously avoided on my run to ?100.

 

All my 'rules' that had got me to ?100 went out the window. I probably got what I deserved.

No real rules as such, I just stayed away from games that meant nothing - especially to the home team. I tried to stay away from games between teams close together in the league table and where a draw would have been a good result for the away team. I checked the goals scored and conceded in the league involving both sides just to make sure either (or worse both!) teams had tight defences and problems scoring goals, and if possible, their most recent results.

 

Just noticed the Ireland game hadn't started when I put the bet on. I'd assumed due to the price that it had. I'm on holiday this week and have been away in St Andrews the start of the week and then North Berwick and Dunbar yesterday and today. I rushed home, put the PC on, and grabbed the best odds I saw - another thing I'd deliberately avoided in the past. All the bets I put on were researched (at least a little) and compared to others available.

 

Like I said, I got what I deserved tonight.

 

Good luck to everyone else.

I may fit in another bet tonight as theres yank 'soccer' starting soon.

 

The only thing putting me off is that i know i wont go to my kip until i see a goal has been scored so it could be a late night.
