Say you wanted to risk ?20 on this game.

 

If the price to lay 0-0 is 6.8 (pink button) then you would lay ?3.45 @ 6.8, giving a liability of ?20.01

 

If a goal was scored you would win ?3.45, if it was 0-0 you would lose ?20.01

 

If you put ?20.01 on 1+ @1.16 you would win ?3.20

 

So in this case you would win slightly more laying 0-0 than backing 1+

Nah mate. Nothing complicated about laying. It's as it says on the tin.

 

When betting on more/less than x amount of goals on a market you should always have a look at which option offers the best return.

 

For example Ireland v Italy - over/under 2.5 goals market.

If you think there will be 3 goals or more you can either:

Back at 2.88 (the blue box) ?10 offering ?18.80 profit

or

Lay at 1.54 (the pink box) to win ?18.80 your liability would be ?10.15.

 

The prices have already changed since I typed that though.

 

Therefore, in this case the back option is slightly better odds. The difference will usually be minimal as in this example but it's worth looking into. There is the definite potential for higher discrepancies when it involves two different markets like the earlier poster mentioned with the correct score market and no. of goals.

Pots at ?103.27 (would have been ?112 if I hadn't used 4 x 'cover' bets). I really need to decide what to do next. The returns I'm getting with this pot are excellent, but to lose this amount would sting.

 

I'll sleep on it tonight and decide what next - any advice is welcome. I'm thinking keep going, but I'm due a loss. Maybe withdraw ?40 (3 x my initial stake) and leave a healthy ?63 to play with?
