Hatton, prior to the RC was not my favourite for obvious, but now, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. The guy is super value for money when he's either peppering flags, chucking clubs or chewing wasps. Mick Donaghy (caddie) must have thick skin. A course historically notorious for being boggy because it sits on clay so the effort of the current greenskeepers certainly paying off. Swanston always looks playable, even the 'new' holes are well bed in now. Just on the wrong side of the Pentlands during winter for the frosty days or that'd be the ideal all year round course for me.

My current place has been shut more than open, and when it is they’ve been reducing it to 9 holes. I shouldn’t have that problem this year though. Have you already joined? if not, I wouldn’t. I actually just joined last month for the exact same reasons as you as I’m on the waiting list at lundin and it’s epected to take a year. so far I’ve noticed that tee times are impossible to book for weekends, even when waiting on them opening! also, played the course twice now and both times it’s been 4hr30 plus as it’s just absolutely rammed. nice layout but I can’t see myself lasting the year to be honest. The prices are fairly reasonable for their clubs too. The service is good and lots of choice, I've always been given the opportunity to try out clubs if they have a bay available as well. They've been on for the last few winters but I've not played during that period once. Bunkers are generally out of play too. I personally think that only having 9 holes open on a rotation and changing common walkways is a better option to allowing the course to be protected. Armageddon
A totally random question. If a set of clubs has +4 wraps of tape under the grips and I want them removed and re-applied with just a single wrap, will the same grips be useable or stretched too much? (Places can remove and save the grips with an air compressor popped into the top). I’ve tried calling the pro shop that I’d go to but they’ve not been answering all week. Im needing 0.5” taken off, grips removed and reapplied, and the lie set to 1 degree upright on a set of 8 irons.
