Like most of the guys's I went to the games with, we were all into Slade Sweet, Mud, Sparks, ect ect,

Used to go to The Americana, can anyone find a song that was played there,

its called Its A Shame, by Bilbo Baggins, I had a copy of this I bought it in Patrick Thompson's (there's a shop) but like so many of the old 45s it has gone awol over the years.

Would love to here it again :);)

if you goggle bilbo baggins there's a guy that has got all their songs that you can download. Just checked, google spence music and go to downloads and he's got all thejr singles

Wow, a blast from the past this thread. And mentions of Bilbo Baggins as well...

Not quite in the classics Dave, but a few more have joined the over fourty club since 2008, and some, ahem, have joined the over fifties!

Was it not the McEwens lager advert? Hipsway were the band.

Nah. Hipsway did another one. This was Win.

You're quite right mate. Crap lager, but both great ads and tunes.

Carl Fredrickson

I am sure the McEwans advert with the Win song was played to death during the 86 world cup.

The Hipsway one IIRC was there tune Long White Car but was a black and white advert in a train station.

I thought the Hipsway track was Tinder but I could be wrong.
