Hopefully we can replicate the kind of form that saw us win at St Mirren recently. I was pessimistic about that one but a Dexter brainfart aside, it was one of the wins of the season for me.

Breaking 70 points would lay down a big marker.

I'd like to see us push as hard as possible to get closer to second and further from fourth.

Ending up a couple of points ahead of Killie would feel like an anti-climax.

Having said that, the hangover from the semi final could be rough tomorrow.

If we follow up a timid performance by feeling sorry for ourselves, we’ve got a real problem holding us back.

Feck hangovers. Get out there and show something that says we’ve got minerals.

Agree re Grant, like a few others get a good game from them then back to bang average.

need more  players who will give us a 8/10 most weeks

Players who are 8/10 most weeks are not playing at this level

Really hard to call this one tomorrow.  There may well be and end of season feel to it from both sides.  1-1

My gut feeling is we will lose this game but hope my gut is talking nonsense which it often is.

If and when we guarantee third we should give younger players, and other current fringe players, some game time in advance of next season.

Our fringe players get game time most weeks to be fair.

This will be extremely tough.

Let's see what bottle this team really has.

Any idea what the highest points total is for third place when both the arse cheeks are in the league.

I think we have closed the gap, points wise from the last couple of seasons,

could be wrong but I don't think anyone has bettered that.  Think Aberdeen maybe but not when Celtic plus either Rangers or Newco were in the league.

What's the point of playing Lembikisa at this point in the season? He's not staying.

Rangers got 70 in 2017-18 and got third. Dunno if that's the record but it can't be far off it.

have been checking - aberdeen got 76 and finshed 2nd in 2016/17 with Celtic and Newco in the league.  think thats the record.

We got 74 and finished 2nd in 05/06.  Thought it was 75 but apparently we only got 74 having checked.

EDIT: But that was for second? Ah, just checked and Rangers got 73 that season, that'll probably be the record.

Thought the question was about finishing third though, not best non-OF finish.

Thanks for the replies from yourself and WZ.

Whatever the correct answer is it looks like we can set a new record.

This has to be our goal and a reason for the players not to be in holiday mode.

Not that I think for a minute that they will.

I agree with you. We clearly have a number of players who are not going to be here next season, Dexter and Scott spring to mind. But they will be in the squad and may actually play. I would like to see everyone that takes to the pitch to be ones who will be here next year.

The Goalscoring Knee

Hope I'm wrong but have a horrible feeling we might lose a tight one and that it may well be the game against Dundee that finally gets us over the line for 3rd. Be good to see Tait get a start.

Unless Hearts are providing free transport to Kilmarnock and free entry into the game I expect every player to be up for it.

Any player or manager who thinks they can just free wheel to the end of the season is cheating the fans. Football is expensive and regardless of league position the fans travelling deserve 100 % effort.

This.

My first ever time through there and expect 100% as a minimum regardless of circumstance.

Also whether I'm there or not  was just making the relevant point that I will be there so will be wasting money if they think they can just see the season out.

They will fancy having a go at us early doors on home plastic. I reckon Hearts won't lose this game as long as Killie don't score first. And Armstrong doesn't have to show us how good he is . We already know.

Lembikisa's tanner baw skills may suit the pitch surface better?

I really hope they go to Kilmarnock tomorrow and show why they are by far the best 3rd place team and not turn up like a bunch of pussies like they did at Hampden last Sunday.

Helping to beat Kilmarnock if required.

After that, little apart from shouting encouragement.

Anyone from through that way or if anyone arrives In Kilmarnock early, our under 11’s are playing Kilmarnock and Livingston in a triangular festival at Ayrshire college KO at 10am. I’m sure the boys would appreciate the additional support 🇱🇻

Yeah, both are prone to jersey-selling errors but Natty offers a bit more. Was decent, mostly, in the semi last week.

Played 13 games, we’ve won 11 (if my maths is correct). Never in the starting lineup.

Earliest he was brought on was against Morton (31st min). A lot of the games was 90 min +.
No chance he is staying.

Players likely to be on their jollies.

2 or 3-0 loss, unfortunately.

Can't see us winning at all. 1 or 2 nil Killie. No Atkinson, Grant or Vargas for me. Not good enough.

Hearts win for me.

It's a great chance for the lads to get 3rd nailed down, remove all doubt and I feel we'll take it.

1-2 Hearts.

Shankland with both.

St. Johnstone 1 Hibs 0, to complete the fun.

Yes started 10, 8 in the league and two cup games.

Some of the takes after Sunday is hilarious. No bottle, pussies, didn’t turn up etc for a team who have shown plenty bottle and resilience this season. Sunday was hugely disappointing but one of the main reasons is we actually did turn up as a team but unfortunately we just lacked a lot in an attacking sense. Think we can question the ability and decision making of some of the players and that has been partly rectified with the pre contract signings, but to question the teams bottle etc seems way over the top. Especially when we are talking about record points totals etc. we’ve lost 1 game outside the old firm in the last 21 games.

anyway, think we’ll get a result today.

I'm a bit fearful it'll be the hampden pussies that show up and killie will be right up for it. I really hope to be surprised with a good performance but we still lack real kick up the backside leadership on the park to drag standards up.
