Never seen enough to get the hate so was on his side as crowd from the beginning was clearly against him. Tough watch in the end. Gates will be out next round.

Got to say, it’s a shame the way the Scots are targeted from the crowd, often before a darts even been thrown. It’s been happening for a few year now down there, no other country is targeted like our boys. It’s no right, it’s the world championships yet the crowd treat it like an England home game. Hearn should take the worlds around the world each year, I’m sure they’d fill out arenas around Europe for example. Anyway, no a massive biggie, but it does get on my tits a bit…

At least it’s one of the few sports where gender or sex shouldn't matter as it gives no advantage either way.

Of course men have an advantage - height, reach and power must all play a part, hence why men are beating the women 9 times out of 10 (and that's being kind). Stamina will also be a factor for the longer tournament.

 

There will always be the odd shock but even Beau Greaves, by far the best female player, doesn't think a woman will ever win the Worlds.

Phil Taylor wasn’t tall and not exactly a physical specimen. I don’t see why any barrier to the best darts player (or chess player etc) being a woman one day.

I applied for a job at SL when I left school but was told I was too handsome and that they tended to look for Elephant Man lookalikes to reduce the number of office romances….😜
