You’d be the first ***** to start whining if our midfield was over run playing in that formation with those players.

No I wouldn't Pollock handled himself against Stoke, and Macaulay was tremendous at Celtic Park.

FFS man.

As the marvellous (if very slightly west coast) David Byrne once said ‘same as it ever was’.

Born in Dumbarton I seem to remember

FFS indeed. No defensive midfielder, a striker bereft in confidence and out best left back as DM. It’s about as mad as the midfield Neilson played in THAT rangers game.

Cochrane is tenacious as is Pollock.

Tait made numerous blocks against Celtic and put his body on the line.

Was it as mad? As when Naismith put Cochrane in midfield at half time against Hibs and won ?

I would genuinely go with that im only interested in players that want to play for Hearts.

Shanks would start but been ill.

Think Vargas could be useful late on.

👍.

Again I want Players that want to play for us.

it was never gonna be the starting line up though was it?

Tait has had a grand total of 11 minutes first team football in two appearances. Let's maybe try him out with a 15-20 minute sub appearance before we go chucking him into a starting slot in an important game.

Captain Sausage

Don’t like Beni, Denholm and Neiuwenhoff in the midfield. Would really have preferred to see a more attacking player in place of one of the latter two.

Cochrane v Hibs was one change on one specific situation.

Teams are out. Strangely enough Naismith has gone for a midfield with midfielders in it and our top scorer playing alongside a guy that’s scored on each of our last 3 games.

Not seeing a lot of creativity in midfield which will be tough against the inevitable 10 men behind the ball for 90 mins. Otherwise, not too bad. Vargas & Shankland to continue their streak

Yeh I guess he will, not sure he’s suited to it and hasn’t played well there in the past.

Hopefully I’m on at FT eating humble pie!

Let's not argue and hoping for a win regardless of my opinions 👍.

Not saying we will win with what we have out still think we are going to struggle to make chances with who we have in midfield. Not 100% convinced Denholm is ready yet and would have tended to start Grant over him but let’s hope we go out on the front foot and can score a few goals for a change.

Famous 1874

Really need to see something from Denholm tonight.

Love to see a local lad break into the side but he’s so far shown nothing to suggest he is near the level required.

Enthusiastic? Absolutely. Hard working? Definitely. Technical? Shown nothing.

All over the place.  You resurrected your thread about Naismith praising everything just a matter days ago.  Have a rest, a long one.

Looking at the training video there looked to be lots of work playing the balls round the corner in behind the full back for our wide players to run on to and cross in.

fingers crossed it comes off tonight

Be interesting to see if we take that into tonight's game. It's that sort of play which gets fans off their seats

Would have preferred Grant over the hoff, but hoping Dexter can turn on the afterburners and rip into them.
