I thought that said Wine & Var for a second there and, well, that would explain a lot.

Tried some in Little Rascals (wine bar on St John's Road) a couple of years back. It was fine.

Tried a couple from Majestic wines : I don't get it , it was nothing special and aside from the unusual colour I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Having a very nice Margaret River Cab Sauv just now.

Margaret River in the south-west of Western Australia is, along with Franschhoek in the Western Cape, my move-to-if-I-win-the-lottery place.

Any one looking for a good red should try an Aldi Vinsobres, a Rhone Village that won't break the bank. Best red I have tried since going through the annual dry January.

Featured heavily in a BBC prog with John Torode yesterday about W Australia.

Thanks you had me double checking annual in case it had another meaning, panic over😄

That's about three years now doing the dry January but it's more financial at this time of year however it does get the energy levels up for sure. Anyone else notice the health benefits it brings although my caffeine input has gone up by a lot?

I'm a member of The Wine Society, which coincidentally celebrates its 150th Anniversary this year.  1874 was some year, when two of the most important institutions in my life were founded.

Be careful not to leave them too long, they’ll be at their best for a while but will then quickly go off.
