Well done Clancy!  Your brown envelope is in your locker!  Must have thought that Hearts might just sneak an equaliser.

How often do you see players, when they should have got a second yellow get away with it, particularly at places like Ibrox, but in general.

Couldn't wait to get the reds out.  Plus some of the fouls he gave against us were ridiculous.

"So Hearts, you think that you can improve your squad to help with the European footlball?  Well, we'll make sure there will be a good number of reds this season.  Can't have you getting to big for your boots."  signed SFA Referees Committee.

It's not enough that the Uglies have a start with bigger fan bases and milions and millions of cash through European qualification so that they pay their players way above anything other teams can even think of, they have to get bent referees to help them along the way.

He has played 6 games. He has barely saved a shot, whilst being fully or partially at fault for just about every goal conceded. His shots on goal to goals conceded stat is abysmal. And these haven't been games against Rangers or Celtic. He has played Brora, Raith, Motherwell, St Johnstone, Queen of the South and East Fife.

How many games do we need to see him in before we make a judgement?

Go back and look at the stats for the games he has played and watch the footage of the goals and saves he makes in those games. It is scary.

Decent performance. The defence were really good today and we actually managed them quite Comfortably for most if it. Unwarranted red and a daft red at the end made sure we couldn’t get up and sneak one, but overall we come away with our dignity intact and no damage to morale. Put it to bed and start thinking about the massive game on Thursday now.

I feel a bit silly now. Before the game I was really fearing a proper mauling. Like genuinely I was fearing 7 or 8. A midweek game a few days ago in Europe. Another one coming up. A second string side. All the doubts about Stewart. No Halks, Kingsely, Gordon or Beni even in the squad. Yup I had the fear. But there was defiantly plenty of positives to take from that. We seem to compete really well against the old firm these days. Maybe not well enough to pick up the points we want. But if we do strengthen as theirs still time in the window. If we bring in strong additions then I think well be fine!

For all of us, including me that thought we were in for a tanking then we were wrong.  And Stewart man of the match!

Funny old game.

All things considered not to unhappy.

The Mrs can’t believe I’m saying that because I’m always moaning about them.:10900:

Don't believe he's from the Edinburgh refs association though. My understanding it the only ref from there is Gavin Duncan.

Really think we deserved a point from that performance today. We were all over them in the second half.

Rowles, Halliday and Haring all great today.

Atkinson and Sibbick had much improved games from Thursday and looked decent overall, ignoring Sibbicks brain fart at the end.

Stewart can be very proud of himself, considering the stick he gets from some on here including me.

I won't hear another word about Gino being lazy or having his desire or attitude called into question. Ran himself into the ground today. Shame nothing really came off for him but not for lack of trying.

Though all our subs did a respectable job too.

Deserved a point but we have to move on. It's hard to come away with anything out west, no matter how much we might deserve it.

If nothing else today proved we have great depth in quality through the squad. We'll more than handle ourselves against the vast majority of teams this season.

Dont lie, many of us saw that XI and thoight we were in for a scudding. Robbie deserves a little bit of credit in trusting his squad today.

We didn't create very much and didn't manage a shot on target (which would normally have been a stick used to beat the players and Neilson with) BUT we hung in there and made them work a good deal harder than I suspect they thought they were going to have to. Too many silly bookings, but two Celtic players should have also gone in the book if the same standards were applied.

Point made!  They don't!  Bent as a fifteen bob note.

Oh, the SFA will defend it all right. If Hearts can be bothered calling it out, that is. Why bother when it’s a foregone conclusion?

Halliday was immense today. Definitely in with a shout surely. I'd give Gino the last 20 mins on Thursday. Hopefully we've won it by then obviously.

Regular John

Sometimes see Clancy out running around the Tollcross/Meadows area.

Thought he may be a potential jambo that over compensates in decisions sometimes, like Calum Murray did.

But more likely he's just massively incompetent.

I didn’t watch the match, but those of you that did, if you believe the players recently scapegoats (Stewart, Atkinson, Halliday, Sibbick) played well, make sure to tell other Hearts fans you know too. I’ve criticised some mentioned myself, but more than happy to see them playing well. Some others, for whatever reason, won’t and think it’s a weakness to be wrong or something and will still stick the boot in anyway. Even without watching.

No Idle Talk

Football is a funny old game. The number of times over the years that I have seen Hearts go to Parkhead with a full strength side and not even lay a glove on Celtic.........well there's more of those occasions than I care to remember. Today we have gone through there with what was essentially a 'B team' and we have put in the best performance I have seen from a Hearts team at Parkhead in quite some time. We have lost 2-0 but I feel incredibly positive after watching that.

There were no failures in that team today. There were one or two players who could have done better but even they were fine. So many players performed well though. Natty Atkinson did really well up against Jota. Toby Sibbick and Kye Rowles both defended very well. Alex Cochrane got caught out for their first goal but he didn't let his head go down, he stuck in and did well after that. Peter Haring was solid. Andy Halliday was fantastic. The players in the forward areas were the ones who disappointed a bit. They all closed down and worked hard and did their jobs defensively but there was a lack of quality in the final third when we managed to get ourselves into positions where we could have hurt them. If I had one criticism of today's performance it would be that.

Watching that performance has made me feel pretty damn good about the squad of players that we have. All of those players gave 100% today and acquitted themselves well against a team that is more talented than ours and worth a hell of a lot more money than ours.

It's never nice to lose to Celtic but I think we can be pretty proud of the performance we put in today. Well done boys.

Don’t want to enter into a discussion but a guy called Kevin Clancy is more likely to support Celtic than any other Scottish side.

Poor 1st goal to lose but the team stood up well to Celtic today. We worked our socks off without troubling Hart, but we can look forward to Thursday. My own thoughts........ our squad is stronger in depth than I thought it was at 3pm. Well done to Stewart. He's taken some criticism on here,  from me included, but he had a great game. Fingers crossed we can add another few really quality signings shortly.

Why would a team that pretends to be like the team you support drawing with the team your father supports make you happy though ? Just because their pretend plastic socialist supporters dislike Hamburg ? Its all totally made up stuff

I understand why you support St Pauli but Celtic are not St Pauli

Newcastle v Man City currently being refereed by and Australian ref. Think this is something we should look into to be honest. Not just to eradicate bias accusations, but because our standard of refereeing is atrocious, as shown by at least 3 games yesterday. They need help, and the SFA should pay for that assistance.

Good post, although I thought we played better in the 1-0 game last season where we were - and I’m going to shock you here - robbed of a point by an offside goal.
