Johnson has stuffed his cabinet full of sycophantic lightweights so there isn't an obvious successor, which funnily enough helps keep him in power. Starmer's policy has been to lie to get the top Labour gig and then just present himself as more competent than Johnson without presenting any real substantive policies. The electorate are lucky to have them both. This is an argument I heard more than one cabinet member use yesterday. I wonder whether any of them realise they were saying, "You may think he's shite but the rest of us are much shiter."

I wish people would look beyond the phrase "partygate" as it gives twats like Rees-Mogg the chance to claim it's a lot of fuss just about a slice of birthday cake. It's not that he hosted and attended parties; it's that he thinks he is above the laws & rules he sets for others. It's not about having a 'work do'; it's about lying to the public and to parliament and believing that doing so doesn't matter. It goes back to his general unfitness to govern. He never got "the big calls right" on Covid - he missed the first five COBRA meetings on the pandemic, contributing to delays that led to deaths. He oversaw an illegal policy of releasing untested patients from hospitals to care homes that led to avoidable deaths. He never got "the big calls right" on Brexit - he's lazy and got bored of trying to find a solution to a complex conundrum, resulting in a situation where the economy is taking a kicking and the NI peace process is put in a precarious position. "Partygate" trivialises this and his many other failings - too many and too depressing to list.

The next catastrophe is just around the corner for him and his party and it has the shape and form of a cost of living crisis that will transcend the utter nonsense excuse suite he's trotting out. I love it, you tories are never in the real world. The opposition parties are going to have a field day with it in the GE campaigns . Its a very good weapon to use and you know it. Victorian
Every news programme they go out canvassing opinion and all you see is the same type of people saying "We've heard too much of it. We're sick of it. We don't want to hear any more. It's time to move on. They need to get on with the cost of living innit. There's nobody else". Yup. That's precisely what he/they want you to think. Everyone could move on to other things if the arsehole was removed. He could have been removed if you had bothered enough to complain to your MPs. Being disinterested enough to facilitate the greased pig escaping and then announcing that you're sick of hearing about what you've been disinterested about has helped nobody move on. Apart from the arsehole and his gang who are now pissing themselves laughing at you.

Don Dan
All this while https://apple.news/AdwllUnMXTa-iJNhKRpapWgwe Britain is on the brink of recession as rocketing prices, tax hikes and a shortage of workers derail the recovery from Covid and bring the economy grinding to a halt, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has warned. Families will be forced to eat into their savings or take on more debt as prices spiral higher than earnings, the economic think tank warned, with inflation rising into double digits later this year because of global supply bottlenecks and energy market turmoil. Even next year inflation will be more than double the Bank of England’s 2pc target, the OECD said, as the EU’s oil embargo against Russia keeps costs high.
