That's Gordon got the fans on his side for good now. He could rip the club apart bit by bit and they would still lick his boots clean after this.

I wonder how Johnson feels having another player forced on him.

In a footballing sense, it's a good signing for them though.

Good bit of business for them. Silly to say otherwise. Let’s not pretend he’ll go back in and make them world beaters though. He was part of the hilariously shit Hibs team that got Jack Ross sacked last season.

Good player. Not the Messiah

Exactly this. Not worth wetting the pants over..

Martin Boyle wouldn't get to clean the boots at celtic ffs

Signing a player, in his 30th year, whose main attribute is pace, on a 3 to 4 year contract, on big money, doesn't strike me as a particularly sensible investment.

He's a good player, but not particularly worth worrying about.

Posted

Beaten them with him before. He's also joined a practically different Hibs team than the one he left only in January.

Doesn’t seem like a Johnson signing to me. He’s made noises on that front in his interview albeit tongue in cheek with his comments about Messi, maybe as an out loud dig, who knows.

Big money, will only get slower, presumably more injury prone. Bring him back. **** them.

Think the bbc link said he'd be paraded but not in the squad.

Bizarre transfer in the first place, the wig was talking about coming home before he'd even left Scotland.

He'll be half decent til November. VAR kills his game

Was thinking this when first heard he was coming back.

Has something in common with most vermin “legends”, Riordan, Murray, Griffiths, Hanlon etc in that, more often than not makes zero difference in a derby.

Remember how excited they were when they signed Scott Allan for the umpteenth time.

What's Martin Boyles derby record? Assuming it's amazing since folk on here are banging on about him

Must have given the Saudis back the initial payment.

BBC quoting that Hibs put a buy back clause in his transfer contract. It was more likely the Saudi’s that put in the clause as it was a risk to them as not all Western footballers can settle a very rigid country regarding laws etc. They don’t throw money away. Hibs will have to cough up millions for this transfer. Looks like another Hibsd It.

Decent signing tbf. However he is hardly the solution to all their problems.

For a Hibs player, exceptional

More like an escape clause, where the Saudi’s no longer pay the balance owed (2 million plus) and Hibs get him back.

Could be. Either way it’s hit Ron the Con’s pocket and Hibs budget.

Were those two goals in Stendal’s first derby at Tynecastle? We shot ourselves in foot that game?

Mark, Boyle out of the game and every other manager will have success against the filth.

Hoof it to Boyle.

Good signing for them. If can stay fit can be talisman.

Not point kidding on otherwise.

He's a good player, but not particularly worth worrying about.

One devlin/haring/halkett tackle away from an injury affecting his pace. He'll score goals but is coming down from his peak.

A signing to make the fans happy.

He'll have the place jumping tomorrow when they wheel him out before kick off. We'll have to be at it from the whistle because they will be.

What a shitty wee club the hobos are. They've got so many players on their books and they've decided to add another, one that they can't even afford. The interview says that they've had to contact the owner and it's a significant sum. So they're spending a fortune on a bunch of nobodies and pinning all their hopes on one player on a gigantic wage.

I hope he comes back and picks up a cruciate injury.

Posted

Doubt very much if they have forked out millions for Boyle…..more likely they sold him on an instalment basis and probably agreed to cancel any remaining payments in exchange for his return, and possibly a token fee.

VAR will nullify the diving little rat.

If we had gone and paid a million pounds for him would you have been happy? Whether they have paid it or agreed to forgo future payments doesn't really matter. It is the equivalent of paying that fee.

Yeah

But wait till VAR severely reduces his impact.

At his age, he's more likely to be one hamstring injury away from losing most of his pace, and what's he got bar pace......nothing.

So if the fee was £3m and they have had one instalment of say £1m they have in effect paid £2m for him.

Utter stupidity for a player that clearly doesn’t give a **** about them and walked away for money paid by bigots/misogynists and when Hibs arguably needed him more than ever.

His morals are ****ed.

Hibs budget is ****ed.

Ron’s profit is ****ed.

For this season i rekon its a good signing for them.   But im going to take a wild guess and rekon he will take the 10k per week the american lad was on last season on a 3 or 4 year contract.  In that case it wont be a good long term investment, similar to us with berra/naismith type signings.

Seriously?

Comparing Naismith to Tom Daley's love child?

A Hibee told me they hadn’t received a penny for him yet and as the team were relegated they wanted rid.

Naismith was great 1st season and then was finished while on a 4year contract on a good wage.

I of course would take that naismith over this boyle.... but i can see a future crock taking a good wedge out there club, and thats not a bad thing 😉

Aye that was a good piece of business by utd, clearly a good player

Boyle is a decent signing for h1b5, no point pretending otherwise, will he suddenly make them challenge for europe again ? I very much doubt it tbh, however he is also a diving bassa and with var coming in after the winter break, I could see him being suspended/Sent off a few times for trying to con referees for penalties/free kicks etc.

Good signing for them and at 30 till has a few years left yet.

This should see hibs turn back to their flair football of sit deep and punt it down the wing.

It does work sometimes.

Rangers are the only club that should be concerned, pretty Sure he cause them all types of problems and exposed Tavanier defensively as they punt and rush tactic blew his mind.
