Tynecastle Park Hotel ( updated )

We stayed in the hotel last night and it was absolutely fantastic.  Three members of Prestonpans Hearts Supporters Club and our good ladies all enjoyed a quite superb experience.  The Plaza rooms were excellent. The dinner and breakfast in the Skyline Lounge was simply top class.  The refurbishment of the Skyline Lounge now incorporates a lovely cocktail bar where we relaxed after dinner.  Ann Budge just happened to be in the dining room with Graeme Paciti and the both came over and joined us for a wee blether.  That added to an already briiliant stay.  Highly recommended!

What a PHM Donald Ford is, since his playing days he’s been heavily involved in the Wallace Mercer takeover, the battle against Robinson selling Tynecastle and the early days of the FOH.

Despite this you rarely hear a word from him, just see his name against these projects

It's not surprising that a thread with 'tiny stadium capacity' in its title is rammed fu' o' gormless would-be wise guys each demonstrating a tiny brain capacity.

Afrer all, their big, empty, heids are merely echoing away just like yon big empty stadium on a typical match day.

Let's wait for a comparison of financial accounts although the usual hobonomics will re-surface to bolster their collective denial of audited facts.

Only three sleeps until The Rangers come calling. Having bagged a 'big draw' in the cup it'll be interesting to see the, ahem, 'benefit' of their slightly larger capacity stadium.

My prediction?

Unlike what would undoubtedly be a sold out Tynie had we got that draw it'll likely be 3,800 bluenoses packing out the away end with 12,200 home fans scattered about.

Should that transpire then I can only imagine the spin that their deluded faithful will conjure up.

What a read. I didn't expect 5-star Trip Advisor ratings from our rivals, of course, but feck me. What a bitter bunch, it's almost parody.

Happy to support the club in the background but if there's a threat to our club he steps forward

I wouldn’t rely on these medications Ray. Someone tried to sue the vendors recently but it wouldn’t stand up in court.

I’m not in the house just now to check my booking, as it was booked by my wife. Does anybody know what time you have to check out the following day.

Big birthday later on this year which falls on a Saturday - hoping to make it a two-nighter (Friday / Saturday), hopefully we’ve a home game that day so I can add in hospitality.

Yeah, had dinner last night & breakfast this morning.

The greasiness of the fish n chips & cooked breakfast were a bit of a let down, we noticed another table pealing off the soggy batter & just eating the white fish.

My venison bourguignon was top class though, as were our starters & desserts.

The rooms really are to a high standard,  quite simple yet stylish & the staff are friendly and helpful.

So all in all, I'd highly recommend, the chefs just need to lay off drowning stuff in oils..

Overall enjoyed my stay last Friday with the Mrs. Rooms are Morden and stylish.

Dinner was very good, I had the venison for main and cheesecake for dessert. However the service was extremely poor. Two tables came in after us and left before us with one of them even having a 3 course meal.

Basically got ignored. Had to ask for the desert menu, ask to take our order and ask for the bill.

Breakfast was meh.

Disappointed with the Skyline as it’s always been top notch previously.

Nobody at the entrance to greet you so we found our own names on the list and wandered in. Chef and some young lads chatting away in the kitchen and didn't acknowledge us, bit of audible swearing going on to.

Didn't really bother me as I've been in those roles and liked to swing the lead too but others may not be fans of it, think my gf was a bit perplexed.

The sin for me though was Eggs Royale with an overcooked (one suspects microwaved) egg. Unforgivable 😂😭

Dinner on the other hand, cooked to perfection, absolutely delicious. They were clearly understaffed but the waitress and host were extremely polite, helpful and a credit to the club.

Can’t see how they can show domestic Hearts games not being shown on TV, within Tynecastle?! Only way to watch it through Hearts TV is paying for monthly subscription and using a VPN.

Can only show games like tomorrow’s abroad through Hearts TV which is why a VPN is required to view in the UK.
