I thought perhaps it had originated from our Armed forces who were posted to India at the height of the British Empire days. Similarly with the origins of the phrase Doolaly (Deolali). Also, the Malay curi (choo-ri), meaning to steal. Either way, Indian or Malay, I'd imagine it's origin was colonial.

I'd have thought these would have been given to Celtic when the allocations were decided and they wouldn't have had any trouble selling them. 22games nro
Think this morning’s article in the Scotsman sums it up nicely Letdown: What’s the point in announcing attendances when they are as skewed as the one here? The crowd was given as 13, 516 in a Tannoy announcement in the second half and the rumble of mirth was audible. There could not have been more than 9,000 actually present including 4-500 from Dundee. Not bad when you consider it was a midweek night shortly before Christmas but still not great when it’s supposed to be a send-off ahead of a cup final. Hibs rightly battled hard to secure over 19,000 tickets for Sunday’s Premier Sports final against Celtic but this wasn’t a good look on a night when they so badly needed a win to brighten the mood before the countdown to Hampden. 5-1Jambo
Very poor team without Boyle. Nisbet was a cart horse last night and as for the crowd numbers, pitiful. If Boyle moves in January they could be looking at bottom 3. Commentator on Hubs TV was gushing about the result and that they are now only 2 points off 4th place. Failed to mention that the didn't score or they are still 7 points off 3rd place. Blinkered minds hide the truth. They are toiling.

Rudy T
Always the same with Hibs, when they’re winning they get 12/13k when they’re shite 8/9k. If your Hibs manager the minute the crowd drops below 10k just pack your bags it’s a sure sign the board will shit the bed and sack you.
