I don't think he would pass up the chance to try and shut us up.

Hopefully we all act in a dignified way, think of his children and his mental health and remind ourselves that everyone is inoccent until proven guilty.

:leveinproblem:

Actually you raise a serious point - surely we should also think of his mental health - if some of our “fans” shout abuse at him for 90 mins and that send him into a breakdown - this isn’t ok

It doesn't take a genius to realise he's going to get dogs abuse.

It's up to his employers to show a duty of care if they think playing will impact on his mental health

it’s of his own making,  he is taking and has taken a wage to go onto the football field and do his utmost to wind us up.

As a father of a young daughter. I’m awarding myself the right to hurl as much abuse towards him as I see fit. Thanks.

So anyone in their place of work deserves abuse if it’s their own making?

why can’t we be mature about it

especially in days when suicide rates are high

If you work with someone who had been caught drink driving, would it then be ok to hurl abuse at them when they are at work?

I’m on your side of this very high fence. Maturity over immaturity wins the day for all right thinking fans as far as I’m concerned. He’s done wrong, he knows it, why make him even more determined to stick it to the abusers and lose 3 points.

How do manage to contain yourself when at a football match

When hearing some abuse being directed towards players managers fans and so on

Must be so tough on sensitive souls

Singing vile songs about Rudi.

‘Ah he’s just a daft laddie’

Shoplifting.

‘Ah he’s just a bit immature’

Blatant racism on social media.

‘Ah he didn’t mean anything by it’

kicking a pyrotechnic into a crowd.
‘Ah he’s just unlucky’

Grooming and pestering underage girls for naked photos? . . . . Anybody??

Sorry, I’d have to say **** him and **** his mental health.

To be clear, I don't advocate going around and abusing folk whose life choices I happen to disagree with.

There is, though, zero excuse for drink driving.  Anyone doing it deserves everything coming to them.

Anyway, back to The Thumb - feck him!

I agree no excuse for drunk driving

but equally - you wouldn’t just turn up to an AA meeting and abuse the idiot who has been drunk driving would you

Stop equating people at an AA meeting trying to kick their habit and sort themselves out with what Griffiths has done. They arent in the same ball park

Maybe he is trying to sort himself out too so no difference

both with people who have mental health issues and in the case of drunk driving - both broken law

The idea of a teams fans shouting peado at a player playing for the other team (as witnessed in that video) doesn't sit well with me, to say the least. There are so many reasons why that is.

Please don't. Not us.

I shouldn't really have responded to your post mentioning drink driving in the first place, as it's Shed territory and has nothing to do with this thread.

Noising up the opposition has been going on for as long as football has.  The Thumb has given us plenty to noise him up about, so we're going to do it.  I'm just sorry that I can't make the game myself.

There’s “noising up” and then abusive behaviour- the latter is definitely not ok especially when you know the person has mental health issues

Are you really trying to compare people with an alcohol addiction to a confirmed criminal who grooms children? Being an alcoholic isn’t against the law.

Drunk driving is and can potentially kill others
