sorry mate - seems you’re slightly misinformed regarding that.

“In recent years the term hermaphrodite applied to humans has fallen out of favor since there have been no identified cases of a human reproducing as both male and female,[10] with some biologists saying hermaphroditism cannot occur in humans.[11][12] Intersex activists have preferred the word intersex, since the word hermaphrodite is considered to be stigmatizing,[13][14][15][16] as well as "scientifically specious and clinically problematic."[17]

A bit Pedantic but ok, I should have said pseudohermaphrodite. Point stands though, these are humans born with both male and female external genital organs.

https://www.britannica.com/science/pseudohermaphroditism

A bit more reading on my part confirms your point about it now being called "intersex", point still stands though.

I wasn’t intending to be pedantic, apologies

However - the truth about intersex people is it’s a deformity rather than a mixture of genders .

What I really mean by this is that any human being will have either X or Y chromosomes as soon as we’re conceived with genitals appearing roughly 9 weeks during pregnancy.

”intersex” people do not have a mixture of chromosomes but rather their female genital has just not fully disappeared - but it is never really functioning and they can only produce sperm.

Biologically they are still either male or female in gender so technically there’s no such thing as intersex either.

And another thing either you believe trans women are women so they should be able to share the same spaces as women ( biological women )  surely ? You keep going on that trans women are women but want to discriminate against them ? How very odd . Like I said your all over place on this subject , even with intersex issue too with your absurd limited knowledge about that too .

James, sadly that is correct advice.  If  a biological male entered a womans' safe space while my wife was in there, I wouldn't hesitate to enter - after asking for permission, and remove him  - and i wouldn't be nice about it.

?  I think the advice to call 999 is over dramatic surely. Its not about their risk they are worried about , its about their perceived right to enter a women's only space ?

Yeah but those people are saying they aren't men. They  " identify" as women so believe they should be able to use any services specifically for women.

Theyll need 999 then if they try that on with my wife

I was brought up that real men had to protect frightened women in distress

Out of interest, is it against the law for a male to walk into a female designated toilet and vice versa?

Christ, i hope not, I came out a toilet in a bar in Bonnyrigg once, said it was very nice but weird there were no urinals, turned out it was the ladies

But i would have thrown myself out if i had realised

It's the teaching of midwifery that doesn't meet the biological fact that a baby cannot be nurtured and born out of a penis.

In an Edinburgh University and that a leading politician and possible leader of a developed country finds it difficult to answer.

It's not madness James it's backward thinking amounting to religious hocus pocus.

And Jonesy is spot on .

In a way they are right .

female to male keeps the womb and has a Pseudo penis formed so will need a catheter if falls pregnant and needs a c-section.

The trans variants keeping all their bobbins and getting even more I suppose, or the partial trans.

I have no issue with gender neutral anything and suspect that is the future.

However certain things should be based on sex, not gender ( which is made up baloney anyway)

I think the article said male to female transition and reconstruction of the penis as viable to giving birth.

It's just bonkers that this is relevant in teaching midwifery .

Fair play to the students for whistleblowing.

Telling that they wished to remain anonymous.

Some transist ran on stage to attack Dave Chappelle yesterday. One assumes that the aggressor didn't actually bother watching 'The Closer' all the way to the end. It really is unreal how folk think they can 'break down the barriers of intolerance' by being, well, intolerant of others.

I know . And they seem to lack any sense of humour , I mean at all .

A man has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, police have said, after comedian Dave Chappelle was attacked on stage during a stand-up show.

Just as the show at the Hollywood Bowl in LA was ending, Chappelle was attacked on stage.

A 23-year-old man, named Isaiah Lee, has been charged following the incident, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

He looks like something from a dystopian future science fiction film.

However, his idea about transracialism is, to me, as logical as transgenderism. If you can take on the superficial identity of whatever it is you wish to transition to, and if you feel like you are that thing, then fair dos. Once the TG door was opened and taken seriously by society, then all bets were off. Transrace, transspecies, trans state (I am a gas), transera (I was actually born during the Roman Empire and the lack of Latin on the census form was discrimination) are all equally as valid as transgenderism because they too demand that the world adheres to, or at the very least acknowledges, whatever subjective stuff pops into my head and, most likely, base the notion of being something else as much on the superficial concept of it as any lived reality.

Perhaps the poor fecker that used to stand Princes Street dressed as Mr Wimpy just wanted to transition to be a burger?

As Barry Norman said “ well why not ?

What an excellent video from a young lesbian woman who clearly articulates the pressures from others about conflating masculine “ butch “ lesbians With being trans . Her story is a wake up call really

Taken from Twitter,  well said and maybe the trans phobic bigots could stop and think. Very much doubt it though

I'm a 50-year-old gay man. I lived through the anti-gay moral panic of the 80s and the many battles against discriminatory legislation and social injustice of the 90s and 2000s, and I'm here to tell you that what is being done to trans people today is what was done to us then.

From someone with no skin in the game, so to speak, I don't see how homosexuality and transgenderism continue to be compared and conflated. One is about sexual preferences, the other is about identity. There is certainly some overlap in terms of minority rights, I suppose, but there appears to be some kind of notion that transgenderism and related issues are a logical extension/continuation of the issues that homosexuals faced in the past. It's broadly reminiscent of the middle-aged, middle-class white women who talk of 'sharing' the pain of the systematically oppressed black minority in the US (much to the derision and anger of many black rights activists). They are different battles.

If you can't see it you're part of the problem, jonesy.

I do not engage with him as he has limited knowledge , let’s just say , about this issue and becomes aggressive and defensive when discussing it

. However I’m intrigued with his response about being a 50 yo gay man who apparently has went “ through the same issues “ as trans people . ? I can’t remember demanding to use the opposite sex toilets , changing rooms , or demand that I was allowed to participate in girls guides parties , sorry I mean demand . Because that’s what is is , it’s demands without any thought or sensitivity to women and girls rights to safety and respect . The trans issue is an identity issue , gay and lesbians are gay and lesbians . It’s who they are , It’s not a perception , based on “ gender ideology “ which is riddled with mainly harmful stereotypes about what a female or male should . I assume he’s referring to the video I posted earlier which is actually on Tik tok . If he cannot understand where this woman is coming from I am honestly flabbergasted . He needs to educate himself and see what is actually happening in the now regarding gay and lesbian identity  and the attempts to erase which that woman completely nails .
