Scotland’s problem is the same as N.I. - no-one to put the ball in the net.

Some decent players though!

Scotland problem is also keeping the ball out the net five goals conceded at home is not an improvement

Beaten by the best team in the group, the chances were there to be taken against the Czechs and Engerland, that was our failure.

I was born in 1981. Ive watched Scotland fail since 1998. I'll not be losing any sleep tonight, it's just what happens 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe now with some of the young lads coming through we can start to move to a more adventurous and possession based game and I think that has to happen.

We've got something to build on.

That's where I am at. I feel more positive about the Scottish International team for the first time in about twenty years.

There is definitely something to build on.

Just to get things into perspective, this Croatia team are going nowhere in this tournament. They are nowhere near good enough. That statement alone demonstrates the prowess of the Scotland team.

Additionally, with the way the competition was set up, it was more difficult NOT to qualify for the knockout stages. You have to be really dire as only 6 teams are knocked out at the group stages.

Finally, we played two games with home advantage.

nuff said.

Hard to argue with any of that.

We are simply just not good enough.

Just as well I only had 11 points.

Pity the rest didn't put in the same effort as Ryan Fraser.

The team that started against England, with probably Patterson at right back in future, along with another one or 2 gaining experience, I think we are looking to be in a good place.

Steve Clarke has done a decent job and will slowly improve.

It's amazing how quickly fans have forgotten our absence from tournaments for the last two decades.

Modric is like a puppetmaster here.

Not playing as deep as before and finding acres of space to weave his magic.

A class act.

Hopefully they will tire.

Apparently though, he’s ‘not the player he was’.

He’s absolutely brilliant, runs the show and, contrary to common belief, does not just do ‘two yard passes’ nowadays.

If only Scotland had a player as shite as Modric.  🤷🏿‍♂️

I predicted a 2-1 win for Croatia tonight but I still didn't expect them to find it that easy. For long stretches of that game we couldn't get close to them. We surrendered possession far too easily - Armstrong probably being the worst offender. Until we learn to hold possession better we'll struggle. The defending for all three goals was not great either.

They say there is young talent coming through but nobody with an eye for goal - the achilles heel of Scotland.

We never seem to have a prolific striker or a star man in midfield who can score on a regular basis

Nobody anywhere near Modric when he scored. Ball watching.

Scotland probably did as well as we could. Qualification was gone when we lost 2-0 at home to a very ordinary Czech team. That was the biggest game of the 3 for us and we didn’t do enough and gave away a crazy goal.

We always seem to shoot ourselves in the foot at these tournaments.

As for not having Billy Gilmour tonight? Clarke wouldn’t have had him in the squad if McLean and Jack had been fit.

The qualification make no bones was fortunate.

We are well off the pace of top teams but no reason to think we are not moving forward and we have shown we can get results in tournament play against some of the less talented teams

Blame lies with Clake for me. Played nowhere near his strongest 11 first game and took to long to make subs. England game, right team picked and everyone played out their socks. Third game probably right team but wrong tactics. You dont give a ballon d’or winner 10/15 seconds on the ball every time he gets ball. Was Armstrong’s side every time and he was nowhere near him. Should have made subs/changed tactics at half time as we were lucky to go in 1-1 and still had to go for win. Players like O’Donnell should be nowhere near the set up..bottom 6 players. To scared to get on ball.

Not kidding. Remember the big crowd at Hampden for the open top bus to do a circuit of the pitch with the squad doing a regal wave to the fans before heading off to the airport. Over 20,000 turned up just for that. Embarrassing!

Ditch Dykes and o Donnell.

Bit more composure and control of the ball needed. We are not as far away as I thought, but still a lot of work required.

Players like Tierney, Gilmour, McTominay and Paterson can form a core for years to come

This is my two cents.

Cooper captains Premiership Leeds......why are Hanley and sub McKenna ahead of this guy?

Paterson just won the title with Rangers...OK not played a lot but played in Europe with them and is young, fast and direct....why is a slow Motherwell defender ahead of him?

Fraser is a regular for Newcastle....and the better option than Armstrong.

McTominay plays in Midfield for Man Utd....why is he a CB with Scotland?

Player selection is still one of our main problems IMHO. We always have journeymen and never seem to be confident to take risks.

Proud but disappointed........uniquely Scottish eh.

England scrape 1-0 wins by boring every team to death.

Clarke should resign.

He had one main job tonight:  Stop Modric.

Easy enough said, but we never had anyone on him all night.   There was nobody within 15 yards of the only world class player for his goal.

How Dykes stayed on the pitch is beyond me. He is crap.  I would even play McBurnie before him.

Armstrong was crap.  McTominay should have been in midfield on Modric the entire game and someone else in CB.

Also, O'Donnell is about to get his big move to Arbroath.

Pretty much bang on, would only add Clarke’s loyalty to Marshall for the pen save v Serbia! Basically guaranteed Marshall all 3 games, Gordon playing would have left us with a chance v the Czechs and wouldn’t have conceded 3 tonight!
