JimmyCant
2 big bouts of heavy snow forecast between now and Sunday. This game won’t be played till next midweek unless we let them use Tynecastle or they can find another ground to use for free that has under soil heating. You're right that the Scottish Cup definitely takes precedence when the tier 5 & 6 teams are having games postponed relentlessly. In this case though I wonder if it would just be in everyone's interests to schedule this one for two weeks from now as major chance it would just get postponed anyway if scheduled earlier. It could cause more fixture havoc if this jumps the queue due to rearranging league games too.

avhudtheteeshirt
What's the point in having an arena like the Orium if for games like this it is not used??? I know it will not be a home game, but, with an extended cold snap this game could be weeks before being played????? Locky
Don't know what it's like through there but down here, the forecast claims it won't be above 0 degrees until Saturday evening. Really can't see this going ahead again whether on the 3G or not. Plenty good pitches out that way that could surely be used? Stenhousemuir is 3G, Livi is too, and neither play on Saturday at their grounds. Surely something is playable. Falkirk, Tynecastle, anything is worth a try. cheetah
Morton Club Statement. These ******* are at it... Following on from extensive testing, Greenock Morton can confirm that a further three First-Team players have tested positive for Covid-19. In accordance with our previous statement and due to medical confidentiality as well as respect for the individuals themselves, the Club will not be naming the players. The Club has kept both the Scottish Football Association and the Joint Response Group informed of the situation. Based upon discussions with the SFA today and following the guidance of the Scottish Government’s Clinical Advisor on Covid-19 for Sport, we have ensured that identified members of the squad will be in self-isolation until late evening on Monday, 11th January. This Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie against Dunfermline Athletic has already been scheduled for a pitch inspection on the morning of Friday, 8th January at the request of both clubs. The grass has several layers of frost upon it and as it is currently deemed highly unlikely that the fixture will take place on the due date. As a consequence, the match may be re-scheduled for Tuesday, 12th January at 7.45pm replacing the game against Arbroath as Scottish Cup fixtures take precedence over league encounters. This decision was made in complete consultation with Dunfermline Athletic FC and we thank them for their support in the matter. As the self-isolation period expires later on Monday evening, the entire First-Team squad will be available for selection from that point. In addition, the Club has been commended by the SFA for its transparency and openness in respect of its response to the Covid-19 situation and for observing the protocols as laid down by the relevant authorities. In due course, we wish the affected players a speedy recovery and we look forward to welcoming them back to Cappielow Park for competitive football. What is home advantage in the current climate? I understand why Brora would want us to go up there cos it's a hell of a journey, especially midweek, but other than that, there is no benefit to which ground is used. In the German cup, all the lower league teams have switched their ties to play at the Bundesliga clubs stadiums. Think it's more to assist with Covid-19 protocol, but with no fans at the grounds, the advantages of a home tie are more or less null and void in the current climate, and in fact, the players would probably rather get the experience of playing at some of the better grounds in the country.
