Didn't he score the winner at the Hibs league cup party?

Brilliant man. Statue I say!

I remember Craig Gordon going bananas when Marius scored

Michael Stewarts tribute was really touching. As was the BBCs send off

It’s strange to be so affected by passing of someone you don’t know personally but this has really got me.

An absolute legend. Only Rudi ahead of him both as an overseas player and in my lifetime

Thank you for being a model captain during the financial problems. Thank you for that day in May. The image of Big Zal lifting the cup will live forever.

I'll never forget his display in SC semi 2012, and then his face lifting the trophy. Collosus.

Had a slow start to his career but he showed some balls to turn it around.

Proper legend.

Pretty much it for me - tears in my eyes seeing him at the end of that, great from the BBC tbf.

Too much going on in the game for it to sink in. Went from utter delirium to devastation at that kicking in now that the game is over. I'm in absolute disbelief at this - 30 ******* 6. What on earth happened? Rest in peace big Zal, that one was for you ❤️

I hoped this wasn't true when I saw this thread but it was confirmed on the TV at half time.

Absolutely gutted.  Way to young an age.

RIP Hearts legend. 😥

Devastating news and all my thoughts are with his family. Captained us to victory in 2012 - a true Heart of Midlothian legend all will always remain in the hearts of the fans.

I missed the send off as my Sky box switched me to another channel. If someone could post it to YouTube, I'd be really grateful... ..

Has it been confirmed that it was MND?If so that’s 2 ex hearts players and 3 rangers players died in the last year.
A horrific disease.

An absolute club legend. Feel absolutely sick at the news. Hard to express feelings properly. Its tragic and stomach churning. 2012 doesn't feel that long ago and the guy to lead us to that is gone.

Hopefully the club look into memorialising him.

RIP

Looks like it, that’s what the press are saying. Didn’t know he had it.

TBF to the oft criticised MS he had genuine tears in his eyes when he was talking about Zal.

absolutely gutted. Loved big Zal. Cup winning Captain of our greatest ever derby victory. Can still remember his tears as he went up to collect the cup. He knew what it meant. All the 5-1's from the top of the bus the following day as well. Rest in peace big man

Neither did I or I’d imagine most hearts supporters. Truly tragic.

An old friend of mine died 2 months ago from MND. He was 60.
36 is such a young age.
