The context is that the top two countries with the highest one year UEFA coefficients will get an extra Champions League place which would mean that the top 5 would go straight into the CL Groups next season, under the new format. Italy currently head the rankings, with Germany second and England third. This week's results should enable England to close the gap substantially.
