FT

Chelsea 2-1 Plymouth

Cracking match - Argyle were a match for them and unlucky not to take it to penalties.

Brilliant by Saint-Maximin setting up Ryan Fraser.

Newcastle hit the post, should have had 4.  Saint-Maximin should change his name to Saint-Maximum, he is some player!

That the Lampard "bounce" over then?

Give it a couple of weeks and the Everton fans will be protesting again. It’s the amount of dross players they have in that squad from 5 or 6 managers and Lampard has added Dele Ali to that now 😂

They need a huge clear out and a massive rebuilding job. Maybe relegation is what that club needs. Everton have won nothing since 1995 , They might of if they gave Moyes more money in his time at the club.

WTF has happened to Man Utd!?!

IMO the cristiano ronaldo signing is why they are where they are. OGS had set them up to play a specific way that was effective last season then they sign ronaldo and had to change that and yes at times they play well but others they dont look like they understand the tactics. it has happened under both OGS and rangnick

I only really see them on motd but surely footballers at that level should be able to understand tactics and if they don’t at least stick their hand up and ask.

Maybe for a couple of years but they’re still one of the biggest clubs in the world, they should be able to attract the best of manager and player.

Get yourself a bottle of Mouton Cadet from your extensive cellar and sit out on the verandah and enjoy a few glasses while watching the world go by.

Well the results and performances this midweek suggest one main conclusion.

Everton are in serious trouble.

Yeah at the Hearts game.

I was going to say it last night after watching Newcastle v Aston Villa.

But Leeds recovering some quality added to Norwich drawing and Southampton winning plus Burnley showing spirit, only Brentford are possible candidates for Everton to catch.

Still need more from Burnley, Watford and / or Norwich. But Everton are in the form position as bottom and last night was a big warning.

Wolves v. Arsenal

Martinelli sent off for 2 yellows given at the same time for different incidents.

Rules change, but I was under the impression that a yellow card is called a caution because it is notice to the player than another offence may result in him being sent off. Martinelli had not been given that notice before he offended again for his second yellow. Could he not argue that he was not aware that he had already committed an offence for which the referee was going to caution him?

If he didn't know already if he watched the highlights from Wednesday the Aston Villa game, he should know 1st offence is a yellow card.

I was saying this a few months back to someone who said Newcastle had nothing to build on, when that lad's in the mood he's absolute quality.
