Eventually, the Embassies succeeded in persuading Quang Ning's Peoples Committee to release us early.

The deal negotiated with their Department of Foreign Affairs had a key element - all had to leave at the same time on a bus the authorities would organise. The bus would leave at 12:30 on 14/03/20 for flights out of Vietnam.

The next part of our trip was to be Australia but neither us nor our Travel Agents could find a flight due to airline cancellations. We had found one that transited via Ho Chi Minh City but the Vietnamese authorities would not allow us to transit via another Vietnamese airport despite both Embassies efforts.

This led to the situation that we had no choice but to leave for home instead with the others. Trailfinders managed to book a a flight that would get us home via Doha, Qatar.
At 12:30 on 14/03/20 the bus didn’t leave. Instead we were “processed". A final temperature check was done. We were sprayed with chemicals again and quarantine certificates were prepared by the authorities ahead of our flight at 17:30.

This took them till 13:15. We then read our certificates and some were wrong. In our case we discovered my wife's name had a spelling error and mine had someone else's date of birth! At 13:45 we got manually amended certificates back and the bus left. We got to the airport with an hour and 15 minutes to go until the flight took off. We just made the flight.

As you can imagine it has been a really horrible experience. So glad to be home. Take care fellow Jambos and look after one another.

I think its the next announcement on how UCL and UEL places will be determined once its obvious most leagues cant complete.

But season not completing imo is a better outcome as I cant see us getting out if this crap.

Malinga the Swinga

Watching Sky sports news over last few days and also tonight and it just highlights what a self important bunch of pompous pricks the journalists and 'football people' actually are.

Whilst people are are losing jobs, whilst people are worrying about their own and their families health and whilst business owners are seeing their life's work go down the pan, we are served with twats telling us that the most important thing is ' integrity of football' must be maintained and that football is finished if season 2019/2020 doesn't finish.

Now those in charge of this game, and that is what football is, want the seasons to be completed by 30th June. Given what the models show this virus is doing, and how as soon as the restrictions are lifted, the virus immediately returns, do they really expect that this is possible.

By giving this stupidly unrealistic date, it apparently allows clubs to aim for the Champions league and continue to milk as much money as they can for themselves. The bottom line is overpaid players and owners with no soul want their cash, and screw everyone else.

It might sound harsh, but football deserves absolutely nothing from any bail out provided by the goverment. Until football can show that it that it is a responsible business, then to hell with all of these money grabbing  fleecing shithawks. There are far more deserving areas for funding. Put it all in NHS to ensure we never have to go through this again.

100% this...  I am sorry the Tv companies and big teams that are winning cups leagues on constant basis, who are not going to end up bust after this shit storm, should be the ones having to bail out the teams that struggle ! but also away from football it should be to them to help the communities as well, its these communities that they the clubs depend on every other week, give something back to the people in whats one of the most scary times for multiple reasons from the quote above. Football Deserves nothing... The Tv companies **** all im sorry.... first and foremost help each other out and look after one another.. Maybe those at the top will start to notice how much they depend on these communities but as always its when its too late !   Fifa ,Uefa , SFA can all do one and same with the TV companies. My main priory is Family, Friends, Neighbours and fellow people throughout this time and then after that of course Hearts.  May I take this point to all on this forum, Hope you all and the ones you find dear stay safe and well during this horrible time.

I'm pretty much not giving a **** what happens re our relegation.    It's been overtaken by more important things.     The injustice might still burn a bit if we're shafted but the whole thing has no importance at all.     Not one iota.

What statement should read

The wealth and greed of EFL owners is of paramount importance to the EFL They have gambled your clubs future using as little as possible of their own money, against winning a share of a pot of gold that will enable them to love a lifestyle that they desire but very rarely merit.

Could you, as supporters, continue to throw your hard earned cash at your club, albeit we will show you no respect and couldn't care less if you lose your job, house or even life.

Please note that that we as owners reserve the right to move our support to a bigger club if the opportunity presents itself. If we bankrupt your club, close your club down, sell its ground, well that is not our fault.

Yip, its all about shifting the responsibility and liability elsewhere, making plans they know are already doomed. But saying well we were willing.

Meanwhile with schools potentially now off until August, there is very little chance any league will be finishing soon, its a sham.

Peter Lawell (Chief Bigwig Of Scottish Football) speaks.

  •

Message from Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell

    By: Newsroom Staff on 19

  • I know you will be very aware of the continuing developments in respect of the COVID-19 crisis. Clearly for some time now, the Club has been monitoring the situation closely and, of course, its potential impact on our supporters, our colleagues and our organisation.

We continue to do this, and through daily executive management briefings we are doing all we can to play our part in tackling the spread of this virus.

This is a worrying time for us all. In such a difficult situation for everyone concerned, above all, the health and well-being of people is of paramount importance. I would like to thank all our staff for their ongoing commitment and professionalism in very challenging circumstances, and I thank our fans for their understanding and tremendous ongoing support and engagement.

We all continue to navigate our way through these unprecedented times with continued teamwork and support for each other. We urge all our colleagues and supporters to do all they can to stay safe at this time.

With regard to the present domestic Premiership League situation, our strong preference is, of course, to complete all remaining matches. To date, we have had a magnificent campaign, undefeated in this calendar year, completing 30 league matches already to create a commanding lead and we are now on the cusp of winning our ninth successive title.

As many have already said, the season cannot be voided as the consequences of that are so severe. In the event that the matches cannot be completed, then the responsibility to find a fair and reasonable solution for the finalisation of all domestic leagues will be with the Scottish football governing bodies.

We hope that the governing bodies are able to provide some clarity to clubs and supporters as soon as possible on the way forward, although we appreciate that this is a hugely demanding time.

During such a difficult period, we also extend our thoughts to all other football clubs who are affected by these events and facing such uncertainty. We realise the hugely damaging effect these circumstances will have on clubs of all sizes across Scotland, Europe and beyond.

The health of everyone in football and society is always the priority, but we hope clubs find a way through these testing times and ensure that the game we all love can thrive again as soon as possible.

Everyone at Celtic Football Club and Celtic FC Foundation is aware of how Coronavirus is impacting on our communities. We are pleased to announce today that we are putting resources in place with the aim of helping the most vulnerable in our society during this period and we will make an announcement shortly with regards to these plans. Our aim is to do as much as we possibly can to help those in need.

We know Celtic supporters are famous for their spirit of solidarity and togetherness. We understand that this is a hugely difficult situation for everyone across the globe, but by working together we know we can overcome these challenges.

While this is a situation which is developing constantly, we will continue to keep our supporters updated as much as we possibly can. We thank you for your continued support, we wish you and your families well and we look forward to you being back with us as soon as possible.

With sincere best wishes from everyone at Celtic Football Club.

English premier league have meeting this afternoon and by 5pm, they issue statement about what they intend to do. Whole nothing definite, they outline general idea of where they stand. We have a similar meeting in Scotland at same time. Nothing is released.

Difference is we have 2 clubs who will not agree on anything that will either mean title goes or doesn't go to Celtic, but will agree on everything to the detriment of all other clubs as long as they maintain their two club superiority over everyone else.

What a pathetic way to run a sport.
