Looking forward to the match today but concerned when we play the

high press we leave ourselves exposed in defence

Tommy Wright worked us out the last time with that tactic

Because we are shit away from home and it's against a bottom 6 team.

We are generally up for the fight against the old firm at Tynecastle.

Completely agree, games against the arse cheeks always see players raise their game, it's a question of maintaining that against those in the bottom half.

Even if that isn't 100% correct, we should have real options on the bench now.

Like that team also.

Would have Moore and Smith ( if fit ) on bench.

Light in defensive cover.

Stendel had about 3 days training with squad at that point. Confidence was at its lowest ebb.

He has since assessed the squad, brought players in, got rid of others, he’s much further along with implementing his style of play and confidence is returning.

Not saying this guarantees a win but it’s night and day from the last time we played them.

Ill take any type of win today but its been a long time since we had a big league win away from home. Can't think of any of note since the championship season.

A big noisy away support should lift the players.👍

Meshino's time to replace Henderson/Moore.

Substitutions will be depending on injuries.

Langer 1st half.  Irving 2nd half.  Or vice versa.

Uche & Washington on 2nd half for Donis and Meshino.

Will Aidy last 45 min?

Clare       Halkett      Souttar     White

Avidjij             Naismith             Meshino

Zlamal, Dikamona, Irving, Uche, Washington, Henderson/Moore, Bosanic

this is where I am.  This team would absolutely horse them

Maybe so but an experienced manager like Tommy Wright will

have done his homework on us as it’s no secret the way we play

We must build on the rangers victory, there is little point in winning against the big teams if we cant dig out results against those nearer us in the league!

Tougher game today I expect which is hard to imagine given the opponents and our previous one.

A victory by 3 goals to 2 for the men in maroon.

It is no secret how we play but that doesnt mean he can stop us.

A win sends a clear message we have turned the corner and the players are 100% behind Stendel ball, which I think they are but one win doesn’t blow all the negativity away. Win today and we have our sights firmly on the top 6.

I'm actually more nervous about this match than the sevco one. We were phenomenal last week I really hope we can maintain that level.

This week is a 6 pointer, last week wasn't.

I believe we will win today but, we will have to nullify the likes of O'Halloran's pace behind our high press.

Why would you leave out our best player over the last 4 games?

This is one of these games where imo we need to score first. St J will sit deep and try and use o’hallorans pace to get in behind. If they go a goal up, they’ll park the bus and try to hang on. We score and they’ll have to come at us. I can see it being 0-0 in all honesty.

Any kind of win today to keep the feel good factor going

but it won’t be easy

Just look at our away record over the last couple of years

Need 100% effort and commitment every game to dig us out if this hole

A win today and getting off the bottom would be massive and we should kick on

Come on the Hearts!

ps I hope the scummy scrotes aren’t there with their bigoted crap and if they are the rest of the support out sing them with Hearts songs and shut them up

I really don’t want to be reading about those clowns again after the game

Tennant's 6's

Got to go for it from the off,  which is likely what Stendel will do.

After their mid wk nightmare, they've got to be vulnerable, we'll have the bigger support.

Hope that White or Garuccio are available to give us balance , maybe bring in Donis for Moore.

2.0 Hearts 🤞

The high press works better against good teams who try to play football from the back and retain possession.  I suspect Wright will try to nullify the high press by instructing his players to play the ball direct / long diagonal balls from the back, bypassing our high pressing midfield and full backs and catching us on the counter attack.

If you press those playing the long direct balls they will turn into long aimless punts. Winning the first or second balls from those punts is key.

Wouldn’t go with Henderson or Moore tbh, it’s a day for a battle and not sure if they suit that.

Have to say I disagree. I think they're both more up for the battle than Meshino, for example, and were a big reason we dominated the first half last week. Meshino is a goal threat, though. I'd love to see him coming off the bench in the second half!

I also feel Stendel has a 'why change a winning team?' attitude, which is an enormous relief after years of tinkering.

Their biggest threat will be hitting us on the break the way Rangers did the difference being that O'Halloran has more pace than Defoe and could cause us problems.

Wasn't the Ross County game a draw? 🤷‍♂️

Game before that was a cup game against lower league opposition where you might expect a few differences in the lineup

I'd stick with the same starting line up as last week but donis in for moore. Keep a bit of consistency.

We've got a very strong bench as well now.

The Goalscoring Knee

See a few folk are opting for White. Was his injury last weekend not concussion-linked, meaning he'd have to miss today's game? Apologies if I've missed any updates during the week.

Oh, and 2-1 Hearts. Halkett with the winner.

Nah, Stendel has been working them hard jn training. We shouldn't really worry too much about them just launching it up the park.

Plus, with the new players that we've now got, were6in a much better place.

Worryingly confident about this game 😎
