Need to keep our feet on the ground here.  Last time we got a good result at home to the Huns, we followed it up with a no score draw against a shite Livingston and then got beat up in Perth by an even worse St Johnstone team.

I think we’ll nick a 1-0, but it’ll be tight.

TBF Livy are not shite at home

I remember St Mirren scoring 7 against us once.  Hardly relevant now.  What happened after our last decent performance against rangers is equally irrelevant.  In fact, everything pre-Stendel and indeed, pre-2020 is irrelevant.

What we all expect is a wholehearted performance from a side with a considerably more talented squad than our oponents.  While they may well prove to be worthy and stubborn oponents, we should be able to prevail in some comfort.

That is not only what I expect, it's what I'm confident will occur.

I’d agree with that team except Smith won’t play. Was only running in training so won’t be ready yet. Plus dropping Clare right now would be lunacy. Smith has been our most consistent player this season but his best performances have come at centre back or midfield. Not saying he’s been bad when at right back, far from it, just if you compare the two’s performances when at right back only, Clare has performed better.

Going solo for this one. Train via Stirling. Any decent boozers in Perth near the ground? Been years since I last visited this fixture!

They injuries were so common they were known at A&E as Hillend Thumb , anyway back to the game ahead

1-3 Hearts

our boost from last week added to another week of proper coaching  against their hard game midweek will see us through after a 1-1 HT

ok - snowboarding is that actual truth. 4 of them there, him and 3 from the U21 squad. No injuries, but some chance to take.

I'm sure it follows the theme of the go-karting trips!

Anyway 0-5

Boyce x 3

Donis x 2

They call it a Hillend fracture in A&E RIE. Very common.

Not getting too far ahead of ourselves, we should be taking 3 points from this game.

We may be bottom of the league, but it's a totally different ball game now.  Stendel is in the building, and he's ripped through the dross and we finally look like we're getting it all sussed out.  The first half of the season might as well be 25 years ago, it has no bearing on what we do from now until the end of the season.

The master tactician, Tommy Wright ®, will be convinced that playing counter attacking football (i.e. hit, hoof and hope) will take care of Stendel's pressing tactics, which will see us with plenty of possession to do what we need to do with the ball.  St J. might get away with one or two on the break, but I think we'll keep them well contained.

2-0 Hearts!

I'd be surprised to see both Meshi and Avdijaj in the starting line up for this one.

Maybe Wasington or Moore in place of Avdi ?

Smith is still out apparently.

Meshino's time to replace Henderson/Moore.

Substitutions will be depending on injuries.

Langer 1st half.  Irving 2nd half.  Or vice versa.

Uche & Washington on 2nd half for Donis and Meshino.

Will Aidy last 45 min?

                         Pereira

Clare       Halkett      Souttar     White

                 Langer      Sibbick

Avidjij             Naismith             Meshino

                         Boyce

Zlamal, Dikamona, Irving, Uche, Washington, Henderson/Moore, Bosanic

I think Meshino needs a shot with decent players round about him. Personal feeling, it would be a sin to let him drift out of it, only having had the chance to be the sole provider for long enough.

No Irving though? Been the organ grinder for a few weeks now

Agreed, I'd start Irving with a view to giving Langer the second half. The rest of the bench allows us to bring fresh legs on for the coup de grace

Irving, Henderson and Moore have provided a lot of the spark for the current revival. Very harsh to drop them all for new players on short term deals. The academy is the future of the club.

Stendel's remit is to get Hearts out of the relegation zone.  Young players need nurturing, they cannot perform 100% for every game.  Irving, Moore and Henderson all played the last 3 games and may need rested. Once Hearts are in a safer position then they can come into the reckoning.

I hate to agree with Elwood, but we have been better with them in. Donis and Ryo have obvious quality, its the youngsters energy that has been critical.

Suspect he may mix up a combo of Meshino, Henderson, Avdijaj and Moore over the 3 games in 8 days.

They have been instrumental in getting us to within a point of safety. No chance Stendel drops all three.

They have a decent bar under the stand. Away fans welcome (except usual suspects). Otherwise there's a fairly big pub about 300 yards down the road on opposite side.

Yup, thumb injuries are common in skiing as you commonly fall on your stick with your thumb trapped between it and your arse. If you're a boarder of course your thumb will be up your arse and well out of danger.
