Haven’t been and never intend to go either , seems I’m right about my assessment judging by some on this who have visited . Plus the accent gets on my tits . It’s a toss up between that or welsh or South African accent though

On my wife’s behalf this.

Your choice, SC, but that's a shame, imo. Fingers crossed they don't have Covid.

I'd imagine they'll have more chance of contracting it here.

Just to let you know, mate. I know someone who has had a £1,000 fine for not quarantining when coming back from holiday. So, it does happen.

I have my doubts it'll happen on this occasion. 👍

Due in part to folk coming back from holidays abroad and not self-isolating properly. Ironic that. :D

Maybe not. But I have heard/seen a few people saying quarantining is not being policed, so thought I would give a “real life” example, as I know it is being policed.

To what extent it is being policed, I am not sure. But a £1,000 fine is not to be sniffed at TBF.

The 300 ***** hoose perty was a "commercial event".    The organiser was given a fixed penalty.    He must be gutted and full of remorse.

Totally inadequate.

People are obsessed with things being policed, just obey the rules and we all get out of this more quickly.

I genuinely dont think it will make any difference what we do. People will go to work, go to restaurants, pubs etc and like any virus it will circulate.

More and more people will be tested and about 1% will be positive.

The while thing could go on for ever and Sturgeon will carry on with the daily broadcast unless we accept it wont be going away any time soon and carry on as to what was previously normal.

Cue a selfish twit post...

Me neither. Had the misfortune spending a month travelling Australia and it was a racist plagued, roasting hot shithole, if I'm being honest.

It's like the worst of America combined with the worst of the UK.

Did you go up the east coast? The Whitsundays are incredible. Even West Australia isn’t bad if you get out of Perth down to Fremantle. Melbourne is a wonderful place and if you can’t love Sydney then I don’t know what’s wrong with you. Aye it’s warm but christ it makes a nice change.

Provisional figures indicate some 53 of these new cases are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde area, where Covid-19 restrictions were reintroduced on Tuesday, including in East Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire.

People have been told they should not visit someone else's home, no matter where it is, because cases appear to have been driven by socialising in households. It is likely the rule will stay in place for around two weeks.

But the First Minister, who said she herself has cancelled plans to be with family, said cases are increasing in various parts of the country, and the enforcement of additional measures in Glasgow should serve as a 'wake up call' to Scots.

While across Scotland the number of positive cases of coronavirus is 9.2 per 100,000 people, in Glasgow it stands at 21.8, in East Renfrewshire it is 18.8, and in West Dunbartonshire it rises to 32.6 per 100,000, Deputy First Minister John Swinney said.

Nicked from the DM

32.6 in west Dunbartonshire?
That’s very high,  sturgeon stopped flights from Greece when they are at 13.5 and and sure the Aberdeen lockdown Figures were half of Dunbartonshire

Agreed, which is why they police have also launched an investigation with the possibility of levelling additional culpable and reckless conduct charges against the organisers.

Mony a mickle maks a muckle. If as many of us possible try to do the right thing then we'll lower the spread and effects of Covid. It's mostly about being sensible in general and also "sucking it up" if you happen to live in an area or undertake an activity that has temporary restrictions placed on it.

Not selfish, just completely wrong. You can have opinions about stuff the differs but what you have posted there is complete baws

So what would get us back to normal? More and more people are sick of this and the lack of any end in sight is having a devastating effect on mental health.

I've been saying this for years, Natural Orders (formerly known as Jambo in Hamilton) is the best troll this board has ever seen. Nobody can be that simultaneously simple, annoying and have such a lack of self-awareness.

The ***** is an internet genius.

Intentionally not self-isolating as requested makes you a massive arsehole. It's not smart, it's not getting one up on the government, it's not some noble civil rights victory. You're just a selfish arsehole.

Yes what is the end game?  I would assume a period of time with no reported infections would be the ideal scenario ? However how long a period of time ? Lets face it a vaccine is highly unlikely for a long time so it would be good to know when we would be assessed as " back to normal"?

Scotland put Portugal back on the quarantine list, England keep them off, even though their numbers are up to 23/100,000.

The political games have been ramped up in the last few weeks :D

I just read a newspaper link with a lassie in Portugal who was due to fly back to Birmingham on Saturday but paid Jet2 £900 to change her flight to the Friday, anticipating that the UK government were going to put them on the quarantine list.

She is absolutely spitting peas that they haven't done it

The US are rumoured to be starting to use a vaccine on 1st November, just before the elections :D

A few states have been told to be prepared

that’s brutal.  Organiser should get 30 days in the jail . Appalling.

the 300 arseholes that went along with it should be fined £1000 each as well.

I wouldn't be too opposed to carpet bombing Gorebridge just to be on the relatively safe side.

That's my 3rd holiday of the year cancelled due to lockdown. Japan in April, Germany in May and now Parkdean in Nairn wouldn't let a group of us in for out long weekend as we're from Glasgow (don't really blame them) - no refunds for this one.

Punish the people who obey the rules, while the people who caused the spike will continue to break them.

There's a twitter account dedicated to this

https://twitter.com/BCredibility

Eg_AVCSXYAAy0Lu?format=jpg&name=large

"Alexander Armstrong hogs all the credibility, leaving Richard Osman to sit under a lamp, as if Alexander's wisdom enlightens him. Richard will be mortified that a copy of his own book has popped upright on the table. The most embarrassing erection outside a school changing room."
