Do you think he ever stops to recognize his inbuilt biases and critically analyses his own thinking to ensure he actually is a critical thinker? Do you think he absorbs a range of material from a variety of sources to reach a position or just grabs the next piece of supporting evidence? As a critical thinker, does Enzo here ever take the time to step into the perspective of others - or does he just form a blanket "not like me ergo they must be conformist, cowering sheeple" judgement on people who do not share his particular outlook?

No worries Victorian, I think I have my answers.

He's beyond any reason but it's useful to burst his bubble every so often.

Thought Ferguson resigned from his Government advisory role last year when he got caught breaking lockdown rules visiting his lover or something, so unless he's back in the fold now, then his 100k comment was his own personal thoughts and is not connected with the Government.

A Government minister (can't remember which one) repeated the 100k claim and from there it grew arms & legs, into people thinking Government policy was based on this 100k claim.

Happy to be proven wrong, but that's what I think has happened here with this 100k claim.

Hes still a member of SAGE and still advising the government through that body.

He may have resigned from sage but don’t think he ever stopped advising in real terms.

To be fair to the poster I responded to he said Ferguson was still on Sage and advising them, so he might be half right.

The latest trend stats. Today had more or less the same number of infections as a week ago, there being a mixed bag among the authorities. The Lanarkshires look a bit too firm at the top there while North Ayrshire jumped significantly. The 7-day positivity rate has increased for the first time in a while, probably due to the marked reduction in tests today compared to last Tuesday (13,704 vs 20,594). Orkney was on target to show zero cases in the last 7 days today but recorded 1 infection.

They need to have something that maintains kids education. Constant isolation of classes and year groups needs addressed.

Yes still masked in schools if over 12 kids and teachers . However  She is “ very sorry” about this so that makes it ok . I didn’t listen to the rest so can’t comment on the other issues

Indoor mask requirements are being maintained in all settings (by law)

Isolation will be restricted by allowing pupils who test negative (PCR) to return to class

Thanks.

Didn’t appreciate mask wearing was still going to be mandatory indoors

At least the downtime for kids should be minimised, which is something I guess

from bbc article

However, the wearing of face coverings in some public spaces will continue.

This will include secondary schools, where staff will need to maintain 1m (3ft 3in) physical distancing for the first six weeks of term and twice-weekly testing will be required.

Particularly for nightclubs.  They can now open, but you stall have to be masked if not seated.

Absolutely ludicrous really , particularly with people have had a skin full in a night club , the bouncers will be tossing everyone out . It’s also just a stupid silly rule to

be that bit different from England . It’s Almost unenforceable

Resignation from SAGEEdit

On 5 May 2020, it emerged that Ferguson had resigned from his position as a government advisor on the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies(SAGE) committee after admitting to "undermining" the government's messages on social distancing by meeting up with a woman.[63][64][65] The Telegraphreported that the woman had visited his home at least two times. After resigning, Ferguson said "I acted in the belief that I was immune, having tested positive for coronavirus and completely isolated myself for almost two weeks after developing symptoms", adding that he regretted undermining "clear messages" about the need for social distancing. The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock, said that he was right to resign from his advisory position.[66] Ferguson did not receive a fine or prosecution for his actions, as at the time it was not illegal as he had not left his home;[67] this legal loophole was later closed.[68] It was subsequently revealed that Ferguson had remained a member of the SAGE sub-committee NERVTAG and continued to contribute to the advisory committee SPI-M.[69]

It’s not clear at all . I want pubs back to pre covid days ! Beyond any zero restrictions . What is the point of standing at a bar with your mask on then taking it off every couple minutes to take a sip of your pint or cocktail 👍😀

Well Nice to see the clubs open again . However unsure how ill manage a “late” one now ! It’s going to be bizarre being in a packed place, music blaring , people crushing up against you , spilling your drink all over you, or over someone else , paying inflated prices for watered down drinks , struggling to  hear anyone talking to you , queuing up to go for a piss , getting a knock back from the bouncer cause your partner is barred from the venue !!! Cant wait 😂😂😂

At this point you'd think it has to really be about making staff in shops, restaurants, bars etc feel comfortable. Or those who have to use public transport for example.
