Footballfirst
As of today's reports, Scotland has vaccinated 3,517,668 (79.33% of over 18s) with first doses and 2,446,834 (55.18%) with both doses. The gap between 1st and 2nd doses is 1,070,834. We have given 2nd doses to 195,575 people over the last week. At the same rate of vaccinations it would take 38.5 days or 5.5 weeks to complete double doses of those who have received first doses to date. That would take us up to 22/23 July, which isn't too different from what England is looking at with a 4 week delay to "Freedom Day". Scotland has also carried out 131,347 first doses in the last week. If that rate was also maintained until 22/23 July, then the first dose coverage would be in excess of 95%. One issue in meeting those targets is the availability of sufficient supplies of non AZ vaccines for the younger age groups.

The Indian variant was here weeks before anyone mentioned border closures. Moray had the first outbreak of the Indian variant don't forget, all because of one selfish family who didn't self-isolate after returning from India. When will folk start to realise that you can't keep a virus out by closing borders. It's a lazy, uninformed re-writing of history. We were in a race against existing and new variants, with our vaccines. The less numbers that got in with the Delta variant, the less it had the chance to outpace the vaccination program. Honestly, you say he's made an erse of it yet you are displaying THE EXACT SAME THINKING. 🙄 As for re-writing history, I put money on it right now that once GB News seeps its insidious 24/7 bullshit into the gullible minds of its viewers, they will be pushing a far different story of the pandemic... I could agree with that but he has other clowns to take his place and brief the Parliament about the decisions.
Nucky Thompson
They just said on ITV at the end of the Poland game, that it's been confirmed that 45,000 will be at the Semis and Final. I wonder what they will allow at Wimbledon for the tennis

He's definitely supping in the last chance saloon. On a more positive note, that real world vaccine data is fantastic. , particularly after 2 doses. A reduced risk of up to 85% against symptomatic infection and up to 95% against hospitalisation. When the most common symptoms of the problem variant are a sore throat and a runny nose then we really are in a good place.

Absolutely. I look forward to the FM, and the PM for that matter, highlighting and reiterating those symptoms at future briefings. "Just like the common cold" would give people an idea of what to look out for.
Don Dan
Bojo and his Vows have never been his thing. He's like an errant father and husband making false promises to his wife’s and kids (true number unknown). Oh hold on..

In four weeks time is he really going to be able to lift all restrictions when this new variant is obviously still going to be very much about ? The fact that all restrictions means lifting absolutely everything as far as I am aware is it feasible to see full football stadiums, indoor concerts, no social distancing in pubs etc. a few weeks from now ? They've been sitting on it a bit until now, but the last day or two there's been a significant uplift in articles on BBC and Guardian about what the symptoms of the new variant are. Expect that to increase over the coming weeks to justify lifting those restrictions. This may change the optics for people a little.

There was a lot more emphasize today on having to live with it and putting up with some deaths. Even Whitty and Vallance were saying it
