If this is true I think it's good news. Guy has lots to offer imo and from how he talks and what others say about him hed really suit that role.

Agreed. The club know this too but they also know they couldn’t contain the backlash if they have him the managers job.

He is clearly a very smart guy and I just wonder whether we have fully utilised his abilities in the assistant manager role. Hopefully this might be a more suitable position.

Captain Canada

It makes sense as he knows Scottish football, the club and has a wealth of contacts. He's successfully sold the club to a number of new signings too that I don't think we would have got otherwise.

I'll be very happy if this gets confirmed tomorrow.

Agree as his credentials are well respected  out - with the club. Hopefully his remit is wide ranging.

Pretty much everything but the first team although he will have a hand in negotiating transfers.

Has to be more suitable for that role than assistant manager.

As long as we punt Daly and Fox then I won’t be too bothered. Would have preferred Darnbrough from Hull City.

If true, happy with this.

Provides good support and continuity for the new manager. From my limited reading and understanding he is well respected and has good contacts in the game.

Wouldn't have said no to him as manager. But this is fine.

Covering my tracks for what, exactly? I have no reason to cover any tracks. Austin will, 100%, be our Sporting Director.

Not convinced it's a good idea he's been part of this mess we're in, oh well a chance to give the club a fresh start and a big lift up in the air

What next Daly and Fox to be promoted

Super smashing great

I agree. MacPhee moving to Sporting Director paves the way for clearing out the coaching staff and letting the new manager bring in his own while keeping MacPhee at the club.

Well we’re not going to be having a Head Coach so there’s absolutely zero possibility of that.

He will be Sporting Director though.

Me neither thought O'Neil would take him to Stoke

I know Budge likes him, but I'm not so sure he'll be either Sporting Director or first team boss (call it what you will).

We'll know soon enough.

Not sure this is a great appointment. He was part of the problem and should have been cleared out with Levein. However, more than happy to be proved wrong.
