This might be the way to go. Slag players and they score. We should try it with Hearts

Thought he as going to be our saviour after the match away in Lithuania in a 3-0 romp. Hasn't happened for him in a Scotland shirt

Job done but hard to raise a genuine well done Scotland with much enthusiasm

A couple of players have shown up well and McTominay has been prominent

Prefer him to McGregor.

McGreggor would be nowhere near the team if he didn’t play for Celtic.

I don’t think the Celtic fans rate him that highly.

Seems to have had a bit of a lean time down south as well.

Would you be sprinting away to celebrate in front of the 15 fans behind the goals?

Only reason to "celebrate" scoring against them in those conditions, & already 5 up, is trying to do a knee slide the length of the pitch.

If he had done that I would've been over the moon

Israel or Bulgaria in the play offs as it stands

Serbia or Norway in the final

Best have it sorted by then

I'm not doubting you, but how can it be Israel? We put them out in our Nations League group didn't we? Genuinely would be grateful for an explanation.

That's what the commentator said. He might have meant Iceland

That's probably it. Thought the UEFA mathematics had just got even more complicated.

If winners of the nations league groups qualify automatically I.e. Tier 1/2 nations (Netherlands, England, Sweden, Denmark) their places in the playoffs aren't required so they trickle down to us

This explains it

The 4 tier 3 play off countries are

Scotland

Finland

serbia

norway

however Finland are currently on course for automatic qualification therefore their place is given to the next best in the third tier. Israel is that team.

(well that’s my understanding)

McTominey was good and McGinn is a great player...folk will not admit it but he will be playing at a higher level soon...it’s good to have these two in our midfield

Again my understanding...

the League of Nations was to avoid friendlies but to also ensure lower ranked countries had a chance to qualify for the Euros.

There will also be one of tier 4/D in the euros which is currently between

Not necessarily. Just rechecked the link I posted. At present, 4 teams from the third tier stand to benefit from unused places (Israel being 1). But its actually done via a draw to see who goes into the playoffs for each tier.

"*In the current scenario, a draw would decide which of Bulgaria, Israel, Hungary or Romania would fill the empty slot in Path C, which would compete in Path B and which two would go into Path A."

I'm not getting at you at all, just struggling to get my head round this. If we'd got pumped out our Nations League group by Israel or Albania we'd still have been in there with a shot? Seems hard to believe but UEFA move in strange ways.

Obviously that was the point, I agree. Is there nobody else out there as perturbed as me by the qualifying arithmetic which seems the real issue.

 I really like Armstrong.

But I was disappointed in him scoring that free kick.

A dead rubber 5-0 up and their keeper picks up a dead ball thinking a free kick had been awarded.

Tin hat on, but we should have given back possession.

End of

Looking at the state of Man Utd, it now doesn't look as crazy that McGinn could be team mates with McTom at club and country.

Agree. I was at the game and didn't celebrate the goal. Just felt a really classless thing to do. Keeper was clearly really embarassed by his mistake. San Marino players were begging Robertson to tell Armstrong to give it back to the keeper. The fact Armstrong didn't celebrate suggests he knew it was a dick move.

Att: 20,699.

The papers obviously ran a false story about only 10,000 tickets being sold.

Yeah or it may be the SFA planted a low-ball story so that when the crowd was announced it feels surprisingly big rather than pretty dismal.
