Spurs had key players missing but I thought it was a bottle job in the first half.

Too many players froze but they also weren’t helped by Pochettino starting with 3 centre backs.  Think that was a boo boo as it stunted his own side in a forward sense.

By fate, the injury to Vertonghen gave him no choice but to revert to something more comfortable for his players and it helped.

Got to say though, how fast, strong and dynamic are Ajax?  So difficult to get away from them in possession.

Ajax already screwed. The vultures are already circulating. SKY killed the chance of small countries coping  with the big boys. This is a flash in the pan

The hyenas will strip them bare by the start of next season.

Still a lot of questions

Especially when the Doctor asked “What team do you play for?” and he answered “Ajax.”

As the commentators constantly reminded us. Is it too much to ask that they expand their limited outlook and allow someone other than the usual suspects to become their version of a "superpower".

Didn't notice before but, the Tottenham defender moves his head out of the way of Sterling's shot for the first goal. If he'd taken it in the face like he's paid to do it probably wouldn't have gone in.

It could be Messi...............but more likely 'messy' for Barcelona when Salah, Sane and Firmino get going

Oh and Messi is the worlds best but he will be up against the worlds best defender

Sane?

Tottenham still in it. Big boost after their start where the first 30 minutes looked like it was going to be a thumping. Ajax favourites with the away goal but a fast start for Spurs could see them right back in it.

Should be another good one tonight, if Liverpool can nick a goal it could make for a classic tie. I think it's more likely though that this tie may be over by the end of tonight and not in Liverpool's favour

I actually think they miss Son more? Sometimes they defer to Kane too much. I’m not doubting Harry, by the way.

Would agree. Kane’s a world class striker but Son isn’t far off that level and brings far more to there team overall.

Spent many months on Maritime Interdiction patrol in the Malacca Straits on a few occasions. No phones, internet. We were men, then. Tough.

You kids have it so easy now.

PS. Can you get access to Bleacher Report? They show the CL games here in the US.

I've got their website. Can't see any links to live games though. I'll have a dig around when I get more time.

Cheers

Gonna double down with Bet365's £25 free in play bet too.

Thinking Barca to win but both teams to score.

Boy at pub last night had bet £300 on Ajax winning. And £50 against his Spurs supporting mate.

I laid spurs for a tenner. No where near the same stakes obviously but Spurs being favourites didn't make sense to me. Ajax have battered far better teams than Tottenham away from home this year.

That’s been the case for Ajax for the last 20 years. They’ll have another 20 future world class players in their Academy, it’s a never ending conveyor belt of talent.

Taking ajax as an example how football should be played. Pass and move, Mr Levein are you watching how it's expertly done?

It looks easy but it’s extremely difficult to play like Ajax.

So not just assault but some casual racism thrown in too. Vermin.

Also, this was not the only incident.

If caught he might well be spending tonight in a Spanish jail, he’ll soon regret his behaviour if that’s the case!

The Liverpool tie is far too close to call in my book, a VAR decision could settle this one either way, but if Barca open up then I can see Liverpool scoring goals and hopefully getting through.

First legs can sometimes be a bit dull, hopefully not tonight.

Hopefully, Both teams to go for it.

Some idiot to compare Hearts to either team and blame CL for not being as good is the only certainty tho.

I'd happily settle for a dull, stand offish first leg tonight, and then get them back to Anfield and put them to the sword!

Hope the Spanish police rough up that older bloke for what he did. Shocking. If someone did that to me I'd probably end up in a cell too for breaking their face!
