What a game!!

I'm one of those who thought the Champions League had become a bit meh! But that game tonight, and the performances of Ajax this season have restored a bit of faith.

With your post word for word Rob.

2 legs so much better than groups

Happy to see a different team win. Well done Tottenham.

Likewise Glad City are out purely because of their financial clout.

A lot of people are critical of the champions league but that was as good a game as you will ever see in any tournament.

2nd legs are generally always decent, the first legs tend to be when the teams don't want to lose or lose heavily.

2nd leg teams go to win.

Great stuff.

The Napoli game tommorow could be similar.

Failed..simples

Pep was brought in to win the Champions League and has failed....just as he did at Bayern

Where's the quadruple now ?..up in smoke

It takes longer to build a side

Will you say Klopp has failed?

Have Real Madrid failed?

Brighton Jambo

Spurs v Ajax is both a very unlikely but very exciting semi final.  Nice to see different teams in the latter stages.

That would be like saying Poch and Klopp are failures, which they both are essentially, but doesnt seem right in the bigger picture.

Quadruple?

Aye, ok Pep.

By the way

PSG throw a game away at Nantes tonight so they can win league at home to Monaco on Sunday.

Ignoring the main point...a silly little smiley does not hide the facts..simply shows up your inability to face the truth

Given more money than anyone else and still can't get to the semi finals..just repeating his Bayern experience

Loving it

If I Klopp doesn't win the league or champions league this year then so far he has failed as Liverpool manager. Liverpool fans would sacrifice the champions league for the premier league IMO. It means everything to them.

Where as I think it's the other way about for Man City and their fans. The champions league is their holy grail

I feel like football was the loser tonight.

Barca will hammer Spurs in the final if they slither past Ajax in the semis.

If you think not winning everything is failure then absolutely every manager has failed.

Not sure what truth I'm facing these teams are normally of little consequence to me. Not my stratosphere

I know.

PSG  have now blown 3 chances to officially clinch it.

Like, by  being 17 points ahead, it’s not gonna happen anyway.

Can't you keep this to a Liverpool forum?

That was a fantastic game between two fantastic teams tonight.

No big hatred between PSG and Monaco anyhow, Mikey.

It’s Marseille they hate.

When was that GW? 67?

Aye. They also won the Glasgow Cup.

Barcelona won 5 tournament sin 2008-09, but two were Super Cups.

Yeah

Man City played some great football. While Tottenham showed great resilience.

For those Pep and City haters they are in it for the long haul. You win some you lose some.

That was genuinely one of the best games I've ever watched. The drama at the end :wow:

? Celtic won four first-team tournaments in season 1966-67.

Most countries don't have a second cup tournament so a quadruple is impossible unless you count Super Cups / World Club Championship.

Pep fails again

Cracked! Awful chat. You can have two teams playing a great game of football without the loser being bottlers.

When Liverpool don't win the title after losing only 1 game it won't be because they've bottled it.

Treble never done, no. Liverpool won both domestic cups and the UEFA Cup in 2000-01. Man Utd won the league, FA Cup and European Cup in 1998-99. No domestic trebles.

Liverpool won European Cup, league and League Cup in 1983-84.

Loving the bitterness...

Pep has spent over half a billion pounds...repeat over £500 million net and not reached the semi finals of the Champions League

He was brought in to do this and he has failed..its that simple

He did the same at Bayern and he took over the Champions league winners

Give Klopp over £500 million net and I think we know he would not be getting knocked out before the semi finals..........wait a minute he has made the last 2 semi finals and with a far lower net spend...oh and Poch is exactly the same

People just hate to speak out against Pep but his champions league record since leaving Messi is very average and poor in relation to the clubs he has managed and the money spent

If they lose the league to Liverpool then you would have to fancy Watford to have a chance in the FA Cup Final.

Lots of good teams tho.

It's like saying every big team has failed apart from the winners of the tournament.

For example, Everyone bar celtic is a failure in Scotland.

Barca, bayern etc are all failures because Madrid won the ucl last season.

Are the winners of the europa league successful, but a team knocked out in the Ucl a failure?

Strange take on football.

Technically you could look it it that way but it's strange.

Would you? I wouldn't like but some people might. I think they'll win the league and the FA cup from here tbh.

I'd really like Ajax to win the champions League but I think it will be Barca.
