Problem with Martin is that his legs resemble that of a 40 year old man's. Injuries have took their toll. At Easter Road in the 3-1 defeat he tried his heart out but the Hibs players were just gliding past him.

In regards to all the Instagram stuff, he did drop a wee like on the photo of the new pitch that hearts uploaded, for whatever that's worth

But so did Perry Kitchen so we're taking that with a handful of salt

Ipswich were credited with an interest in him recently.

Just googled Ipswich training ground and there’s a photo with the same path as in the photo looks like he is off to Ipswich

Hull City it seems

Yep.

Tweet from @mikewhitesport, one of our local BBC guys: "Nobody from @HullCity available for comment/confirmation but source says there’s hope of getting deals for both Jordy de Wijs (PSV Eindhoven defender) & Manuel Milinkovic (Genoa attacker/winger) over the line today or tomorrow. Talks ongoing as things stand. #hcafc"

Pretty confident that was Hull City's training ground on his Instagram the other day too, so makes sense.

Perhaps he was keen to come back to us, but also keen to explore ultimately more attractive options.

He is a professional footballer, so clearly money will always play a part in any contract decision, but in this case, I’m happy to take it at face value other factors were more influential.

Good of luck to him. Did well for us, but his legend also seemed to grow with each team he didn’t play.

His way of looking at it is he probably has a club at a higher level offering him a deal (which also has more money on the table).

Sucks, but that Celtic game and his performance won't be forgotten in a long time. All the best David :(

He obviously doesn't know what he's letting himself in for! We are an ongoing accident at Hull at the moment, with the owners gradually asset-stripping what was once a Premier League squad whilst replacing with cheaper options and driving out the fanbase due to no concessions, the name change fiasco etc. Nothing will improve here until the Allams go. Average gates will probably drop below 10k next season for the first time in years. Hope the lad is up for a relegation scrap!

 It was always about the money.

Hearts helped him/the agent out by negotiating an appropriate transfer fee then shopped him round the leagues in England as part of the negotiation on wages we’d offer... we were used in the end.

Sometimes it happens - onwards and upwards.

Ah well. He was part of a bizarre season, had the potential to become something special here but chose to try do it somewhere else for more money.

Maybe we only offered a 2 year deal and he wanted more security?

Who knows but good luck to him.

Will be remembered for helping us end celtics run.

All the best to him, bit disappointed we couldn’t get the deal done, money talks though and you can’t blame him for looking after himself.

He's signing for Hull City and part of that is simply due to money

However it is also about the challenge and future opportunities playing for them may represent. One good season for them and who knows where he will end up..one good season for us and he'd end up at somewhere like Hull.

I wish him well as he tried his best for us and I still feel injuries and his late start in the season for us meant we never quite managed to see him at his best.

You cannot hammer players simply because they take the money as 99% of fans would do and do the same in their own careers.

Why do people think some of our summer signings have arrived in Edinburgh...……..it's not for the weather !!

I think I'd actually respect him more if he said that this is financially a better offer and he needs to look after his family as best he can. Hey ho. Good luck to him and genuinely hope he does well.

I can confirm, Hull is a dump, unfortunately I live there!

Strange one signing for Hull struggled to stay in the Championship last season (probably won't stay up next season imo as well) and only have about 13 senior players on the books at the moment without looking like adding too many to that number. He won't be on major money at Hull either, probably more than what he would be on at Hearts but Hull are in fairly big financial trouble, with the owners publicly stating they won't invest more in to the club as they're actively seeking to sell and have been since 2014. Really don't see what the pull will be for him to play for Hull but I hope he does well for himself nonetheless.
