After all why is the eurozone outlook bleak and it's two biggest economies ready to slip in to recession? No Brexit or Tories to blame there, which was my original point. It's global for me, the real big mankind problems. Wealth inequality, famines, homelessness, war and disease. That's what needs fixed. How we do that, feck knows. But the Tories are cants, and Brexit dumb af. No argument here.

I don't see it any time soon. So when faced with the necessity of getting rid of these criminals, the Labour Party, albeit sub-perfect, simply becomes an absolute necessity. Not even for particular policies, but just for a change in personnel and to disrupt the never ending corruption and neglect.

They have to play to the Tory types or they’re not getting in and and they’d have to keep the hard brexit mob happy now or imagine the right wing press. Labour would be in for one term and out on their backsides again in all likelihood. I was shocked to read a wee while ago we’ve only ever had 6 Labour govts and if you go back 300 years pretty much only 40 odd years of socialist govts. That’s insane when you consider most of the best things about Britain came in those 40 odd years. Added bonus being that all that is a great diversion from every policy this Junta has inflicted and continues to inflict, on the plebs. Fair comment. Brexit really isn't the big issue here. It's a medium-sized issue for the UK, but it's not the biggest issue you face. The bigger issues you face include that your veneer of liberal democracy has worn extraordinarily thin, that your economy is a lot less diverse than it needs to be, and that you have an increasingly unequal society where wealth and income opportunities are more and more concentrated in fewer and fewer hands. Those issues are not unique to the UK, but of course now that the UK has turned its back on political and economic co-operation with Europe, it's really up to the UK to get its own house in order (or not as the case may be) without regard to the rest of us. Blaming every woe on Brexit is about as helpful (and as accurate) as claiming that Brexit only leads to broad sunny uplands. As you say, there's a lot more going on, and people in the UK need to be looking very closely at what's happening - more closely than they seem to be at the moment. ri Alban
Putting independence to one side, for a minute. Folk on either side, must see we need control of immigration at Holyrood. We need mass immigration to do the jobs and multiple our tax take. The NHS needs hands on deck and WM isn't seeing the bigger picture here. Yes, England may or may not have a problem with immigration. We don't, so we need powers to bring in EU citizens. Anyway/Anyhow, more than shot is about to hit the fan.
