Nonsense - I come from four generations of Hearts supporting spitters.....

I was always taught to not even walk over it.... You and your family spit on it

I know what I prefer. Anyway each to their own!

the rails they get bolted to are on site, waiting for fixing brackets and seats. You can see boxes of rails in this pic.

It looks to me that the walkway is narrower than in the other stands.

when do the seats go in? surely they can start on the top tier whilst they finish the bottom or are the seats still on a container in the sea?

There used to be notices on the buses

"No Spitting"

Anyone else remember this ?

As if it needed said anyway.

I think it was because of all the old men that used to puff away on their pipes.

Going upstairs on the bus in those days was like going into the toilets in the old main stand at half time "a bit foggy"

Do people actually spit on the one in the high street and find that acceptable conduct of a human in 2017? Holding up some sort of made up myth from years ago.

Yeah 2017. Unacceptable to spit on the ground. Acceptable to blow up ordinary citizens with remote controlled explosive aeroplanes. Acceptable to print bank notes to save rich private corporations while "no magic money tree" for any supposed greater good.

We are now the national/supranational equivalent of sellickfooballclube: Offended by everything, ashamed by nothing.

Monoblocking looks superb this is very exciting

Spitting in public is vile. You shouldn't need to be told.

Lord Beni of Gorgie

Spitting on the stone on The Royal Mile is a legend.

99 percent of people won't feel the need. If someone does its not remotely close to any other form of spitting i know

The legend encourages people to be lucky. If you believe it I hope Santa is good this year

And if you spit, yer naughty and Santa as we know, frowns upon this.

Is spitting worth no Xmas presents, or even risking it?

Think before you spit.

Aye, but if you spit on our new club crest you might get yourself in a different kind of spat!

I have always spat on the Heart of Midlothian on the High Street. If people think that is unacceptable I don't give a shite.

Spitting on the thing in the high Street is different from spitting on our club crest outside the stadium, as was suggested by one poster for reasons best known to himself.

Don't think anyone really cares if folk choose to spit on the high Street.

Spitting on the new club crest Should result in a boot in the baws/ ***** followed by your face being rubbed in it after a wedgie.

Done it all my life and not going to stop now

Anyone who doesn't like it should give the heart a wide berth.

The last few pages kinda suggest otherwise.......

Quite a bizarre derailing of the thread lol - of all the things I coulda guessed would cause debate this week, i'll concede I didn't think a 4 page debate on spitting was one of them

Whenever I'm home, if I pass the Heart I spit on it. Have done for probably 45 years. Sorry if it offends but I wont be stopping till I die. The new crest I will not be spitting on. Thing of beauty.

Anyone who still spits on the Heart of Midlothian is a low base individual. Tradition ? Do you still chuck buckets of shite out your window and shout Gardyloo ? No ? Why not ? Is it because its disgusting ?

Only came about because some melt suggest we spit on our new crest.

It has gone on to a wider issue, but closer to home-

Spitting on our new club crest. No, no, no and naw.
