No shame,no apparent dissociation from Clinton on this obscene and racist man who campaigned for the end of civil rights.

This is the kind of individual who is running for the US presidency, this is the mind set that sees no wrong in the individuals  of the calibre of Senator Byrd it associates with or likes.

The infestation of neo cons with white supremacy associations or sympathy is highly worrying in the halls of power and influence  in the US senate and with  politically  motivated  individuals like Clinton and Trump..

  As Hillary opined in the video below ;

"Senator Byrd was a man of surpassing "ELOQUENCE" :uhoh2: and "NOBILITY" :uhoh2: .And, Its is almost impossible to imagine the USA Senate without Robert Byrd. He was not only its longest serving member .He was its HEART, its soul and its historian"

Now the question is why does Hilary get a free pass for her friendship with a known high ranking KKK MEMBER??

As Byrd once announced:

?I shall never fight in the armed forces with a ***** by my side ? Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.?

And another one surfaces, this time  US ambassador Liliana  Ayalde who likes the odd soft coup.

Parliamentary coups the new strategy  of Latin Americas right wing.. :laugh4:

Imperial Designs? Current US Ambassador to Brazil Served in Paraguay Prior to 2012 Coup;  :beatnik2:

Carlos Eduardo Martins, a sociology professor at the University of Sao Paulo, told teleSUR that Ayalde is using similar language to defend the parliamentary coup against Rousseff.

?That ambassador acted with great force during the coup that happened in Paraguay and she is in Brazil, using the same discourse, arguing that there is a situation that will be resolved by Brazilian institutions,? Martins said.

Meanwhile, Argentine political analyst Atilo Boron called Ayalde an ?expert in promoting 'soft coups.'? :laugh4:

The U.S. ambassador to Brazil previously served as ambassador to Paraguay in the lead up to the 2012 coup against Lugo, who was ousted in a manner similar?

Bit of a lull now anyway, although the pie fight over delegates at the Nevada convention made for a bit of a stir for a while.

Wonkette wins so far for the best coverage of the meltdown in Nevada.

http://wonkette.com/601971/nice-grandpa-bernie-sanders-gonna-burn-your-sht-dowwwwwn

(About as NSFW as JKB after a loss to Hibs)

Before you tell us to WATCH THE VIDEOS ? we have. They don?t show the blinding righteousness of your side that you think they do. What they show to most of us is the kind of screaming, violent temper tantrum for not getting your way ? which happens sometimes in a democracy, or even a republic! ? that is turning you into nihilist shitbirds. (Present company excepted. We know almost none of you would ever behave like a common thug ? though you have your moments! ? and we promise you don?t need to Swear Fealty and Fall in Line in the reeducation camp that is the comments.)

Bear in mind that the sum total of this supposed perversion of Democracy and stealing of the election resulted in a net gain of 2 (two) (and by that I mean 1+1) delegates to the national convention, out of 4,000.

Also, the number of delegates to the Nevada convention that were disqualified by the committee was 64 Sanders delegates and 9 Clinton delegates (almost all of them because they did not change their party registration to Democrat by the appropriate deadline).  By comparison, the Sanders campaign failed to fill 400 slots with delegates, thereby voluntarily surrendering those votes.

The Sanders' campaign petulant statement following the Nevada convention, as Wonkette points out, has pissed off even more people than were already pissed off by his supporters actions at the convention itself.

Trump leads by three for first time in cnn poll. His media savvy has again been in full display today. Who else could articulate 'great hate and sickness' apart from him? Direct, clear and resonates much further than others' combined soundbites and efforts. Hilary can barely bring herself to say the word jihadist and Bernie I imagine swallowed the Chomsky kool aid years ago so is largely irrelevant on this. What will his odds look like if the terror frequency continues in this vain for the rest of the year?

To some degree this is to be expected -- Kasich and Cruz have formally quit while Sanders hasn't, and there's things like the Nevada pie fight going on, so the Democrats haven't had their coming together moment.  (And despite all the current vitriol, I fully expect a strong endorsement speech from Sanders at the convention.)

By the time silly season ends and September rolls around, the Clinton campaign and its allies will have had time to sharpen their attacks, and will be much more unified than the scattered GOP establishment was.  All that said, Trump's media savvy is not to be doubted any further.

I read an interesting newspaper article today, which should give hope to us all that sanity will ultimately prevail in the US election.

The article speculates that Hilary Clinton might soon be facing charges from the FBI over this ongoing email scandal.  She is claiming that it was all a simple mistake, but there is evidence that she was repeatedly warned by the security people, and she ignored the warnings.  If that is true, she has apparently committed a federal offense and will be charged accordingly.

If she is charged by the FBI, she will drop out of the Presidential race, citing health reasons.  The Democrats will then appoint Joe Biden as their nominee, with Elizabeth Warren as his running mate.

The twists and turns in this election continue.

Johnson selected as Libertarian party presidential nomination I see. Best choice in my opinion. A bit Republican lite for some party members but certainly the best candidate in the current climate.

Here's hoping they can actually make an impact on the American electorate.

No, Gary Johnson.

Although they did have a zoomer even zoomier than Boris, up for nomination, who when asked to present his case for nomination as party chairman at their convention thingy, did a strip tease. He withdrew his nomination straight afterwards saying he only put himself forward as a dare from his mates.

It's certainly nice that the libertarians let go of the socially repressive stuff and oppose the surveillance state and "get tough on crime" stances.  That said, they'll keep going with the gutting of public services.

Can see Johnson getting a fair bit of the GOP protest vote over Trump, though.

He's aiming for the Presidential Debate. Sitting at about 11% in polls at the moment. A big push but an achievable one to get the required 15%.

The more I read about them and their British counterparts, the more I find myself agreeing with them. Abolishing welfare and health care are obviously thorny issues that I'm not sure about but pretty much everything else seems to be right up my street.

Lovely to see the Mexicans waving their flags as they attack single women on camera at the rally last night. Pretty vile the stuff that has happened by the mobs but in a way it is not surprising considering the criminal elements within the Cali population. What is worse is the condoning of it by th left in vile identity politics ravaged rags like salon.com.

And it all just plays into that clowns hands. If thousands of poor kids have their parents deported come next year the alliance of the violent thugs and self righteous left will have had a big hand to play in it.

He has that reputation, for sure.  He has name recognition, and Elizabeth Warren is highly respected, so who knows what will happen?

But a Hilary victory is not the slam-dunk certainty that the Democrats once assumed, so I think they're scrambling.  We'll see.

Someone at the Atlantic got an interview with Howard Dean, who's probably in the position to be the most interesting commentator on this year's elections.

https://www.facebook.com/baconmt/posts/10154242145927188?ref=notif&notif_t=like&notif_id=1464912250851955

In many ways, Sanders is about half Dean, half Ralph Nader.  After Nader's disastrous campaign in 2000 that ended up helping Bush take the White House, those of us on the left were left to watch as one national Democrat after another rolled over and played dead as George Bush passed his tax cuts for the wealthy, his national high-stakes testing education plans, and most of all, the war in Iraq.  Dean stood up in 2003 and thundered, "I'm from the Democratic wing of the Democratic party," and we loved him for it.  John Kerry eventually came around to opposing the war, but when Dean stepped up in 2003, Kerry was in line with everyone else, including "progressive" charlatan John Edwards, in rolling over and mouthing all of the empty slogans that were allowing that atrocity to happen.

What everyone remembers about Dean is the "scream," which retrospectives have pretty clearly demonstrated didn't kill a frontrunner's campaign, but was the cry of a disorganized campaign filled with in-fighting trying not to fall apart in the wake of an unexpectedly bad finish in Iowa.  What they forget is that in the months before Iowa, Dean was shaking the party establishment out of its defensive crouch, and that what little swagger eventual nominee Kerry did manage in his woefully run presidential race seemed to emerge after Dean had shown how it was done on the stump.

The other thing people forget about Dean is that after the 2004 election, he got himself elected as the chair of the Democratic National Committee, and infuriated the establishment by running his "50 state strategy," sending Democratic party organizers to all states, not just the "swing" or "battleground" states, which DC insiders thought was the ultimate in foolishness.  The return was the 2006 election, where Democrats unexpectedly took back both houses of Congress, and a lot of the grassroots groundwork for Obama's 2008 campaign.  The denouement of the whole thing was after Obama's victory, in order to get the DC party insiders onside, Dean had to walk the plank at DNC, where he was replaced by the clubby and mediocre Debbie Wasserman Schultz, an insider backed by wealthy aging Floridians.  For folks who wanted a more grass-roots and agile and responsive party, the Dean years were golden years.  (And the DWS years have been painful, which is one reason why Sanders supporters are out for her head.)

The irony of all of this is that Dean wasn't the socialist firebrand that Sanders is -- he was always effectively a center-left guy on policy, he just refused to back off his principles.  One of those was that the Iraq war was an utterly stupid and terrible idea, something that was obvious to anyone not caught up in the doublespeak of "toughness" on national security, a constant inferiority complex on the Democratic party that folks like Dean and Obama finally shook.

Anyway, the article is good enough that I can't find select pieces to pull-quote.  I think Dean's take on this whole election is fair and pointed and grounded.

Snowden done less ffs and he is being readied to be lock up for the rest of his life?

Is  it not strange that Clinton and Petraeus  can leak sensitive and classified information and nothing happens to them. But people exposing treason and illegal government and banking activities are readily marginalized , imprisoned or exiled.

This world is fecking back to front,  from the small elite that readily back and probably support  these comedy election candidates  and to the US and wiorld media who  ignore their blatant history of corruption .,illegal  manipulation and general self interests that so becomes of these mega rich psychopathic individuals.   Elected to serve the people my arse.. :beatnik2:

So America what your media is not telling you is that your choice for your future president is a possible neocon war criminal and "wall street" sleazebag  and manipulator,(Clinton), or a billionaire racist who very well may become a neocon war criminal,(Trump). Either way, the military-corporate-banking complex wins and you as always loose.

A lot of us thought he'd never win the nomination, so caution is required here.  Also, Obama's presidency has uncovered a whole lot more racism in the US than even dour folks like myself wanted to believe.

I just saw a poll that Trump is ahead by 1 point in Florida, which makes a degree of sense -- Florida is chock full of retired white people from the northeastern suburbs.  I think his campaign will eventually run off the rails, but it's polls like that which make everyone pause for a moment.

I'm closely harboring distant hopes of a reverse of a 1984-like electoral map.  It almost certainly won't happen, but as someone who became politically aware during the dark years of the Reagan administration, it's a bit of dreaming the impossible dream...

I feel no need to be cautious. My posts on an anonymous message board for fans of a Scottish football team will make hee-haw difference to anything. I've always felt he had no chance of winning the presidency. If that ends up being wrong, having made bold and subsequently wrong predictions on here will not matter- I'll have real things to worry about, instead!

I am aware that millions of people would vote for the corpse of Bin Laden instead of Clinton, mind.

Right. Black Lives Matter is a paid stunt.  And the "proof" is that Soros gave them some money.  People in Ferguson actually weren't at all angry that an unarmed teenager who was going to college was shot dead in the streets then left to rot in the middle of the street for four hours while the police joked and insulted his relatives.

(And all these years I've been going to protests, I could have been getting paid for it as a "professional agitator.")

Here's the reason I treat you as ridiculous and asinine and deluded -- it's the kindest interpretation I have for you.  If you aren't actually a conspiracy-addled tinfoil hat dunce and you think Black Lives Matter is nothing but a paid stunt by a hedge fund manager and not the honest expression of rage and a cry for justice from one of the US's most historically oppressed populations, then you're a horrible, soulless, heartless, evil human being.  An absolute dunce is the nicest thing you can be -- I hope for your sake that all you are is a soft-headed soul overly impressed by weird conspiracy theories.

I'm just catching up with this thread.

Fantastic stuff UA. Fantastic.
