Polishing up my French next week ! Getting an oral test from the tutor first to see what level am at ! I’m certainly passed the stage of asking “ Ou est le biblioteque ? “ hopefully . btw my oral French is much better than my written French 🇫🇷 😂

£1.27 for petrol this morning. Still massively overpriced but nice to see it come down by a few pence. Hopefully keeps going that way.

Sadly, I think it'll go the opposite; war expanding in the Middle East and barrels of oil reportedly already up in price from last week.

Got a couple of days off and today I have absolutely nothing to do for a change. So I've been to Aldi for some shite and snacks, dusted off the DVD player and dug out the Minder box set. Probably have a nap later.

I braised some pork shoulder steaks for Sunday dinner. Lovely gravy made with the braising stock and butter loaded mash and a few different veg.
I love winter comfort food.

I have to agree Taz', we put the first lot of Pheasant and Partridge in the freezer today, we had a Pheasant casserole tonight, gorgeous so it was, with wee roasted tatties and broccoli.

Wee Dawnrazor bagged four Mallard on Friday night, we had them with a plum sauce in pancakes, Chinese style, nothing like food you've went and got yourself, for me, it's the best time of year for food.

Clear blue sky and 18°c in Perth today.  Sitting outside having a coffee.

This is better than about 90% of the summer.

Fair play to the cashier who stood up to him in the first instance and that was quite a jump over the counter from the first male shop-worker.

Good on them.

Great example of ****ing around and subsequently finding out.

This isn't the Phillipines. Such disregard for proper festive protocol should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

Winter solstice in our house.

It’s the olives and the aperitif of an evening that sets certain people aside.

An outside beer in the heated garden of the New Raeburn hotel certainly displays that.

You, my good fellow, deserve a couple of jars in Hectors. 👍🍻

When you buy some pies out of the local shop,  take them home,  heat them in the oven,  cut into one and realise they're Bains.  😀🥧

Did a white wine version of coq au vin this week.  Winter comfort food it definitely was.

There's lights in the trees at both front and back of Tarkin Towers twelve months of the year.

Not the garish flashing ones which festoon the balconies of the nearby tenements around this time of year, mind.

It's a bit of a story, really. I can't really go into the details. It might not be that long or it might be longer,  I'll find out tomorrow
