Bigsmak
Good days work today. Ground out ?130 profit playing 15/25p blinds on WillHill today. Then went on 888.com where me and my mate have started a joint bankroll. Turned $200 into $1,300 in 2 sessions, playing $2/4 blinds. Faith restored slightly after a slight ropey spell on Sky last week. BE careful if you are playing the same account. I heard of that one of the sites found that two people were sharing an account and took all their money away.
Walter Payton
Good days work today. Ground out ?130 profit playing 15/25p blinds on WillHill today. Then went on 888.com where me and my mate have started a joint bankroll. Turned $200 into $1,300 in 2 sessions, playing $2/4 blinds. Faith restored slightly after a slight ropey spell on Sky last week. My faith's definitely waning that the long run plays by the odds- won on Monday night at Diane's again, including a hand that I came from behind on (I called with my big stack and K,Q a guys all in move from late position for 3xBB- he had A,Q and I hit my K. You won't often hear me (or any poker player) talk about the times they dished the bad beat, but this was definitely a pleasant surprise! Still had that guilty feeling after though...) but online it's definitely going against me. After winning 2 or 3 tournaments in one week (only small stakes stuff so only picking up a few hundred dollars each time) I've just hit the brakes big time. With no exaggeration, the last 12 tournaments I've been going out pretty late, but always before the bubble- that in itself is unremarkable but because of my poor run I've found myself playing tighter and tighter, building my stack by winning small pots, leaving it as late as I can before I start getting involved in the really big pots because I've been expecting to be slapped in the face by the deck. All of these last 12 tournaments I've only had one all in moment (in each), and most of them haven't even been me pushing with a small stack, with people calling pretty significant stacks each time- to get to the point though, each of these tournaments when the cards have been turned over, I've been at least a 65% favourite to take the pot only to see the other person suck out on me. It's getting pretty demoralising because I know I'm doing the right things- it's just waiting and waiting for this downturn to come to an end. You'll never catch me spouting any nonsense saying things like Pokerstars or Fulltilt are rigged (UltimateBet on the other hand ) but I don't know why I keep loading up the online tables just now- playing live's just working so much better for me. Walter Payton
BE careful if you are playing the same account. I heard of that one of the sites found that two people were sharing an account and took all their money away. Good advice- people doing this was definitely under scrutiny a few months back on the poker forums (the whole Zee Justin thing brought it up I think) but it's something that the poker sites can pick up on, sometimes do, and if they catch you they show you no mercy. The Merse
BE careful if you are playing the same account. I heard of that one of the sites found that two people were sharing an account and took all their money away. We aren't actually sharing the account. It's my account and I'm playing it but he's got a share in the profit, speak on the phone with him and make joint decisions on what we're going to do with the hand we have etc so it's fine! DikT.
I have had it bad since I came back about two weeks ago. Lost quite big two Saturdays in a row. Won on Saturday, but pretty insignificant amount (about ?100) so drunkenly suggested 3 card turnovers as I thought my luck had changed. Lost the lot. Ive felt that a few times, took some out yesterday...today played 2 tourneys and not a sausage in hours of play. Felt like that a couple of times. Probably just a coincidence though. Bad evening on 888.com tonight, bankroll took a serious hit! Every time I bet a good hand I'd get no calls. Every time I had marginal/fairly good hand I was being re-raised. Lost a belter of a pot, me and my mate were a bit peeved off at the way it was going so made a pre-flop call which absolutely screwed us. Called a raise with J3 diamonds. 3 way action. Flop A82 - all diamonds. So flopped the third nuts. Resulted in a 3 way all-in and a $1,100 pot. Needless to say the money didn't come my way. KQ of diamonds flopped the stone cold nuts, the other guy was in with AQ which was a bit mad. Not so good.
Era Macaroons
Probably is....really notice it though after withdrawing, perhaps cos my bankroll is obviously now smaller. anyway ul with that 1K pot, your not gonna fold it but scunner the other guy had KQd Im playing $1/2 NL on Hills at mo.....standard is shocking, 3 pure mugs (6 seat table) reloading all the time. trying to bluff all the time, going for gutshots after big raises etc. It reminds me of Bigsmaks comment that 'playing laddies on fri/sat after midnight is like printing money' lol. I started off pretty crappily and was just going on blinds. Was big blind with my last $2, Pocket aces. AAK on the flop!!!!! Everybody was in as well (10 of us!!) One guy had pocket Ks as well. Anyway it got me back on track and I never looked back but man I could have won a fortune on it!!
The Merse
Actually had a ridiculous evening of bad beats. All against ONE player, who was sooooo bad. Was playing 1/2 dollar blinds and he must have taken a good 600 off me. I can't remember them all but at least 4 shocking beats that I can think of off the top of my head. Bare in mind, only playing 1/2 blinds. I have aces in the big blind. He limps. I raise it to TWENTY dollars cos this clown calling everything. He calls Flop 885 I check and he goes all in, kind of what I wanted. I called. He called the 20 dollar raise with 84 off. Bye bye 180 dollars. What else was there, oh yeah. I had KJ and hit two jacks and he hit a runner runner flush with K2. I then had K7 and hit 2 sevens and he got runner runner flush with K3. Got him back making some good calls on him when I didn't have much but felt it was good, then boom he took another big one. called a raise with 67 hearts. Flop 2h4h7d. He checks. I bet 32 dollars, kind of an over bet but felt i was good, he raised it to 64, I push all in for 220. He calls me with 75 spades. So he is drawn to an offsuit 5 to win the pot, basically a two outer. Don't need to tell you what came on the turn do I.

After Saturday nights debacle, I did something I'd sworn I'd never do- install PKR (had decided as a poker connoisseur that I was too classy for that gimicky nonsense). My opinion of that site may have changed somewhat though- 2 $3 dollar tournaments played, a 1st and a 3rd in the bag and I'm $400 up. Makes up for some clown calling me down with Q,3 and hitting, even if I was bluffing with King high.

Anyway, she turned 88 after I went all in. Bitch. Another hand she called me after the river with a K4 offsuit in her hand, with a 2,A,Q,J,4 on the table. Needless to say I had deuces. Knew I had her beat all the way to the river by the way she was betting, but that hurt. Cow.

Seen it as high as 90, as low as 25. It just depends. Standard varies... Considerably. If you've read any of this thread you'll see people getting an all in raise called with K 4 suited from the shortstacks early in the tourney. But there are a lot of regular 'good' players there. I think there are maybe 2 or 3 very good players. Go along, have fun.. Its about the banter really. I've won the sat night one before and it can be a nice lump sum in your pocket. You playing D-McG? Played it and technically won it. Was a 3 way split in the end but I was chip leader so my name up on the prizeboard. 100 players so good pot, took ?720. Not sure I should have agreed to the deal as without being big header I knew I was better than the two players I was up against. 3 handed lost a pot which would have netted me the whole lot. Had kings and raised, guy called, big blind was all in with an underaise, I call other guy calls. Ace on flop and big blind trebles up and is back in the game. My kings hold in that hand then I'd have probably around 3/4 of chips in play at least. Bit peeved but hey still a good win.

Tell me if I was wrong to go. Bear a couple of points in mind, we had decided we would have one more round of dealing before bed. I was BB, had 10,2 hearts. Four people called the BB so I trebled it. Two people stayed. Flopped 3, 6, k same suit. Went big. One folded to leave me against a Korean guy who plays virtually every hand and will never be a poker player as long as his pecker points south. Anyway he raised me big so I reraised. 4th card brings 5 hearts, gutted but still think I am strong. Diamond on the river so no use to anyone, and I still think I have got him. ?200, calls and shows me the J hearts!!!!!!!! Walter Payton
Impossible poker hand Sorry if posted before but this is just incredible. Never seen that before, cheers for posting it. Absolutely incredible set of hands- I've actually seen Aces against Kings against Queens twice before live (though I've never seen the Kings fold!) but that's a sick beat for the Aces, especially when he thinks he's dodged one bullet when the Kings fold and the King comes on the flop. Makes a mockery of the people that say poker sites must be rigged and that these things don't happen live.

There really isn't a right or wrong answer to that one... Yeah, guess you are right. I am a % player and way I figured, he had 3 outs as I was asuming none of the others would have folded a big heart after the flop. This gave him in my mind about a 6.5% cahnce of hitting it. Worth the gamble. If not for the fact I was so far up at that stage I might have folded, then again I would not have had that much money to make the bet in the first place. Gawd I love this game. I'd agree with that. Betting your hand can throw people off, alot of the time if they have something they'll not believe you do when you bet out and re-raise. Otherwise if you keep checking it you might let them catch up and beat you. They either have something or they don't, you'll get action if they have something and if they don't they'll fold.
